Cult Of Luna, Intronaut, Isis, Pelican, Corrosion Of Conformity, Acid Bath, Crowbar, Boris and The Melvins. But if you're wondering what bands I really dig... that would be Boris, Acid Bath, Isis and Intronaut. Especially Boris. "Pink" is a heavy fucking album.
CoC and Crowbar are sludge? it'd be only natural to think Down is sludge too. I guess I listen to more of that genre than I thought
I only gave them a shot because I was intrigued by the Pantera/CoC/Crowbar combo. I fucking hate Phil Anselmo and Pepper Keenan, but they make good music IMO.
My favorte band right now is probably Bullet for my Valentine. I like them so much, my favorite song by them is probably hand of blood. I also like Slipknot, Trivium, Protest The Hero, Atreyu is ok, Mushroomhead if they count, but only there new album, and System of a Down.
all of those bands' old stuff completely destroys their new stuff IMO, aside from BFMV and Slipknot. Franny, do you ever listen to Dear Black Diary? I heard their song Life is the Leading Cause Of Death on MuchLoud 2 weeks ago and thought it was utter shit. I thought it was a terrible ripoff of The Number Twelve Looks Like You.
Fantomas Faith No More The Haunted Megadeth Mastodon At The Gates Sepultura Meshuggah Celtic Frost Strapping Young Lad There are other bands I like a bit but those are definite favourites, even though I'm willing to bet that at least one of them isn't metal.
Faith No More is somewhat debatable. The Haunted, old Sepultura and At The Gates are the best out of the bands on that list that I haven't already mentioned
Which Faith No More have you listened to? I'm not questioning your knowledge or anything, just wondering.
not enough to make a fair judgement, I've listened to more of the newer stuff. Isn't 90% of Nu-Metal not metal at all?
Yeah, but if it wasn't for Epic, Anthrax/P.E.'s Bring the Noise, and Run DMC/Aerosmith's Walk This Way, we wouldn't have nu-metal.
Try King For A Day and Angel Dust if you haven't already. Quite a lot of it isn't necessarily metal but you might like it. FNM weren't nu-metal in the same sense as, say, Taproot or KoRn, but they definitely influenced most of those bands in some way or another. I hate Anthrax/Public Enemy.
