I'm going to take a stab at this thread.

Would bands like The Devil Wears Prada, Between The Buried and Me, Every Time I Die and From First To Last count? *shrugs*

I listen to those bands a lot...and of course the bands that can't be talked in this thread. :whistling

@Neil: It's not like everyone who listens to this kind of music wears such things.
And you don't want to know what some extreme people who listen to Tiesto wear.
Ever seen a giant hall filled with skinheads on drugs "dancing" to hardcore techno? (not Tiesto...)
That's just the same type of cliché or stereotype you're talking about.

But like Franny said this thread's about the music. So that's the last thing I say about it.

Then what bands should I actually listen to so I can understand what the hell scremo really is then.

    Some popular music isn't bad.

it's not about what's popular and what's not. it just so happens that most popular bands got the screamo genre wrong.

listen to the bands in the first post. or try some lickgoldensky. maybe some alexisonfire (self titled), or even the letters organize.

yeah, I was referring to the self titled by AoF. their last 2 albums aren't screamo or whatever.

yeah, basically, screamo is hardcore or punk music with screaming vocals.
aof kinda lost that punk flavor to it though, which blows.

the self titled was great screamo, I preferred Watch Out though because it seemed darker.

I'm not sure how to describe Crisis.

and I read the above posts...isn't BTBAM more metal than screamo?

I'm not really a fan of screamo or anything that makes it seem like you don't have a fucking clue what the person is saying.

Although I do listen to Haste The Day if that's considerable to this thread. Although their vocalist left which blows.

    rock / post-hardcore?
crisis disappointed me, so it's like it doesn't exist to me.

I liked Crisis, but it seemed a lot softer than Watch Out (which had some soft spots).
