I played bass for a ska band and basically half of the songs were original and the other half were Weezer songs in ska form. It was awful.

Yeah, this is, this guy doesn't even know what ska is. He thinks it's just off-beat guitars with drums. I think ska can be fun if played properly, but only in small doses. Oh. and what makes it worse is the songs we're doing are like Crazy little thing called love by Queen, and Sweet Dreams by Eurythmics/Manson. Songs that translate really badly into ska as it is, but when you can't even play ska in the first place it's even worse.

Suddenly I just want to read a book... I never want to read a book.

    Edit:
    Kurt Vonnegut's Breakfast Of Champions
Charles Dickins' A Tale Of Two Cities

These I just have to read...

Try reading Bernard Cornwell's first three books in The Saxon Stories series. Best books i ever read ('The last kingdom', 'The Pale Horseman' and 'Lords of the North'. They are the first three in te series so read them in order, and there's another one out next year). That's if you like vikings and such. They are sort of.. action/adventure novels. Really enjoyable.

    Tell her you were adopted.

Breakfast of Champions is one of my favorite books. I also recommend Junky by ...Burroughs, I think? And On the Road by Jack Kerouac was good too.

Ouch, Darcy. That sounds awful (coming from a girl who loves ska).

I wanted to be all cool and post an animation of Monty Brown's "pounce", but I can't because I'm at work and the filters suck. *sad* :( I wish someone would do it,.

I'll see if they have them at our library... they only have really popular English books here so I don't know if I'll find them (i don't know if they're popular..).

I'll check those out too. :p

I really want to read a lot of English books but my Dutch teacher keeps giving book assingments about Dutch books. Pretty frustrating, mostly because I hate Dutch literature... it's all so corny. >_<

I'll go to the library after my exams.

edit: I'm off now, can't go to bed too late with my exams and all. G'night.

They aren't really that popular, so nevermind. But trust me, English literature seems corney to us because of the way it's taught in schools, so it's probably the same with you and Dutch maybe?
