    And, exactly who has received an IM? I might be able to look at the server logs and get the IP of who viewed your profile, and if I have a matching IP, then that's awesome

    Probably not worth the amount of time it would take. Probably would be best to just let this die unless we continue to receive IM's from this person / persons

    Um... so once you guys narrow down their IP... what are you going to do with it? Whois the IP and email the ISP's abuse department? I actually worked in an abuse department for a service provider and we refer to these reports as "idiot calls" and we filed them in the low profile circular filing cabinet, known as a trash can.

    Anyway, do your best to this guy:

    I know of a way to get the IP address through MSN/WLM, probably works through other programs too, not sure, but what you need to do, is have him accept a file transfer. First go to start > run > 'netstat -b -n 1' and let that run, it'll give you IP address of what you're connected to, then try to have him accept a file transfer. Of course, he might not be co-operative, but yeah. His IP should show up in the command prompt, since file transfers are direct (not routed through WLM servers). Best idea would be to take a screenshot and send it to one of us to examine so we can figure out which IP address is his.

    I don't know if this has changed or not for WLM 8.*, but it's doubted. Nor do I know if it works in AIM or any other programs. Hopefully this helps somewhat. =/

    The IP resolves to a Roadrunner switch in Houston, TX.

    Todd just made it so guests cant view profiles anymore. So at the very least this bastard will have to register.

    So I think this guy figured out I was conning him.

    I don't think he clicked the link

    But he viewed people's profiles.

    Check my profile and Amanda's. If anything matches, you've got him

    And he says he's from Ontario, I'm not sure whether to believe him.

    Check it though.

    2 people have viewed both your profiles today: The Ask Jeeves bot, and you.

    It's also possible he got your AIM screenname from the Who's Online page, and with everyone who views that, it's impossible for me to track

    I leave my AIM name up so that if someone needs to reach me, like an Admin, they can. Not so that some prick harrasses me and starts talking about where I live and one of my friends.
