http://www.mtv.com/news/#/news/articles/1546766/20061129/sum_41.jhtml New article about Sum 41's upcoming album...still in the stages but they promise a somewhat return to the old ways that they're albums All Killer No Filler and Does This Look Infected?" were which is a relief, because Chuck was ok, but not like their 2 older albums. They also talk about it just being a complete mess when making the Chuck album, the departure of Dave and yes...no Avril Lavigne on the CD
No Dave = no interest in album. How are they even gonna perform their old songs anymore? I doubt Deryck can even play Dave's guitar parts. I'm probably the only person that thought Chuck was their best album.
@tasta - Not only can Deryck play Dave's parts, but he wrote most of them in the first place. @Friskey - Yeah. It's called "Keep Holding On" hehe
Holding onto what exactly? As for Sum 41, IMO they got gradualy worse over the years but hopefully they can return to the AKNF form soon. It'll be hard without Brownsound though.
I thought Chuck was their best, and Does This Look Infected? was right next to that. I would say DTLI? was their best, but it was too short and got old for me faster than Chuck. Can't wait for this new album, the live album was just alright.
Chuck was awful, it wasn't influenced by anything, and whether or not they did it intentionally, it sounded alot like other bands.
I loved Sum 41, and although everyone says Chuck was a bad album, technicaly they'd be right, but it took all the bands i liked at the time and put them all together in one CD basicly, so i was happy. But Sum 41 without Dave? Mmmm.. not really too enthusiastic about this..
