Goes to show not only geeks are obsessing over gaming anymore, eh? I'm not surprised, though. Unless I just live in a different type of neighborhood, it's not that rare to see people get hurt over the anticipation of something like this. I'm actually kind of surprised to see such passion being showcased for the console. Never would have thought to see major injuries for the system itself. And people were afraid the PS3 wouldn't sell... PSHAW!
Me and my friends started hardcore dancing at best buy on launch day. Then we went and purchased a xbox 360.
There was a PS3 that went for $16,000 on ebay (although I'm sure that was a fake bid)...others have been around the $3,000 mark. Fuuuuck, I missed the boat on this one
That's fucking hilarious There was one up there for a hundred grand...the description said something along the lines of "Businessmen of America, sheiks of Arabia, lords of England, show me who has the most money!" !!!
I camped out for a Wii, and everyone was so peaceful. We were all talking and stuff. The futureshop guys let us establish a signup list for the consoles so we had a record of who was there first and everything went smoothly.
I feel kinda bad. I mean, I got to Toys R Us this morning at 8 AM and they let us in the door right away and we just waited there for an hour and they took us to the electronic department in groups of four. But I only had to wait an hour. I feel extremely lucky but yeah, everybody was really nice and welcoming and Toys R Us was surprisingly organized and well-prepared.
