OK, so now that we've heard the albums from AVA and +44, what do you guys think?

Personally, I like both bands more than I ever liked blink-182. I mean, I never really disliked blink-182, and I'd willingly listen to them, but they never did too much for me except for a few songs. I never really was too stingy for good lyrics, but I just never liked blink's -- to me, AVA and +44 both have far better lyrics than blink-182 ever did, even on their last album.

Do you like blink-182 more, or its two offshoots?

Well I was a blink kid back in the day, so I could never replace them in my mind.

(+44) however seems to have a better sound to me. I'm not really a fan of AVA (the album is enjoyable to an extent, but there's only so much you can take of the same melody over and over and over...) and in my eyes, (+44) wins the battle between the two offshoots.

    So my verdict is:

    1. blink-182
    2. (+44)
    3. AVA

Let's not refer to people as "right" or "wrong," no offense... I don't want this to get into a pissing contest (not that either of your responses have, but I can see where this would lead to).

AVA is just a bad U2 meets Interpol ripoff.
And what's funny is that kids are making him out to be a genius, fueling his already huge ego.

    I completely agree.

Although I think that +44's album, due to it being based more around blink-182 than AAA were, is missing something. That something being Tom DeLonge.

Yeah, thirded on the Blink kid thing.

Saying that, I definetly enjoy (+44) alot more than AvA. While it does have a more techno-ish feel to the music. It's just a fun album to listen to, while Tom wants to rule the world and beyond with his band, even though the AvA is one of the most disappointing records I have heard in awhile, although we'll see what happens when Mark's album finally comes out in a couple weeks. I can see +44 top AvA most likely.

I enjoyed listening to both +44 and AAA but Blink 182 will always be the better band of the three for me.

blink all the way, its simple really: AVA = 1/3 of blink, and (+44) = 2/3. blink-182 =3/3. its all you need to now, blink walks all over the other two, (+44) aint bad, and AVA are just plian boring. And tom delonges ego is present in every song.

I was a blink fan back in the day and I still am to some extent. Over time I didn't like the AVA album as much as I thought I would, but +44 seem pretty decent, though I haven't heard their album yet.

One of their logos had an upside down A in between the other two A's and everyone thought it was a V. It's grown to the point that even the band members use the abreviation of AVA.

Weird thing is, Ava is one of Tom's kids names .

Yeah, Tom said he decided to use that logo because it's his daughters name. He "came up with the idea".

Blink 182 was specially, neither AVA or +44 will ever top that.

But I'd say +44 has the best chance to top it. AVA's just a big dissappointment, I was really into the song The Adventure but when I listened to the album a couple of times I got bored of it.

I'll have to check out +44. I didn't like AVA since I heard their first single. Never listened to the cd though.
