Hey, I just recently started to really get into J-Rock (even though, I've listened to Dir En Grey for awhile) and I was wondering if anyone who was into it as well could recommend some good bands to me. Right now, I got Malice Mizer, Gackt, and Dir En Grey.
Wow, another Dir en Grey fan! I would recommend perhaps X-Japan. Not really recent Dir en Grey style, but pretty good in my opinion. I've only listened to X-Japan and Dir en Grey so they're all I can recommend. But it's awesome to see another J-Rock fan.
I was so excited to see Dir En Grey saturday at the Family Values Tour and then I got to meet them, it was pretty awesome. You should download Redemption by Gackt...you should be able to find it on a final fantasy fansite because it was used in the trailer for Final Fantasy VII: Dirge of Cereberus. It's a great song. I'll be sure to check out X-Japan too.
BALZAC, Green Milk From The Planet Orange, Gazette, Boris, Rolly, SEX MACHINEGUNS, Acid Mothers Temple, The Pillows. It's my secret obsession.
Gackt... haha the guy kinda creeps me out. I'm not into J-Rock as much as I am J-Pop or J-Hip-Hop, but I hear Orange Range is pretty good. EDIT: This group also is rock-ish, although they have a lot of Europop influence to them... MOVE. They're really good. Do As Infinity too. Haha, I'm just going through bands that are involved in anime.
u should definately listen to l'arc en ciel. even though they're a little bit overrated their music is awesome. u should listen to their older stuff though i think u might like it more. another group u could listen to is probably asian kung fu generation. they're kind of punk/alternative
Oooh Jrock! Yay! Lets see, what do i have that i can recommend? Gazette, Alice Nine, MUCC, Despairs Ray, Nightmare, Plastic Tree, Girugamesh, Wizard, Moi Dix Mois (Mana from Malice Mizers current band), D, Miyavi, Alice Nine I do know loads more but it's all on my computer. I'll edit this tomorrow if i see some really good ones. Edit: Right, have some more 12012, Glay, Pierrot, Hyde, Ayabie, Givuss
