Never mind Mascherano and Tevez going to West Ham, the deal of the summer was Arsenal actually managing to get money for Cygan.
That's actualy true...£2mil aswell It's weird because Cygan was quite decent for the first few games he played for us and then well...his defensive skills pretty much died Villareal are smart...
The thing is that we're gonna have to play him at left back but he's so much better as a central defender. A Toure/Gallas defensive partnership would be solid because they're both extremly pacey and great defenders. But Toure and Senderos work quite well together aswell, I dunno how our defence is gonna pan out but I'm expecting when Senderos returns he'll be a CB while Gallas wll be left back.
Carlos Tevez and Javier Mascherano went to West Ham...yes West Ham Ashley Cole went to chelsea in exchage for William Gallas Jose Reyes went on loan to Real Madrid in exchange for Julio Baptista on loan Guiseppi Rossi joins Newcastle on loan from Man Utd until January Olvier Bernard has rejoined Newcastle on a free Kevin Kilbane to Wigan from Everton Roy Keane signed Dwight Yorke, Graham Kavanagh and like 10 other people for Sunderland That's all I can be assed to write
good deals all round especially for Sunderland and West Ham i must say...i think West Ham's dealing might get them a euro place for next season too...
Apparently the buisinessman who wants to buy West Ham - who's meant to have brokered the deal for Tevez and Mascherano - wants to buy players from South America and sell them at a profit. Even if that wasn't the case I'd be surprised if they were there for more than a year or two, unless West Ham suddenly become massive over-achievers.
It's not a very good business plan anyway. There haven't been many successful South American players in the Premiership. It would be better to just build a team, and that way the fans wouldn't hate him.
Wow. Is he a club soon-to-be-owner or a telemarketer? One Tevez, going for (x) mil. dollars! Anyone? Anyone? Is good forward! Free south american defender! Anyone? Hmph.
If he really did do the deal for Tevez and Mascherano then chances are he will buy the club at some point.
Bleargh. Brazil vs Argentina TOMMOROW! No Crespo, though. . But hey, Sergio Auguero will be playing! And dear old Pato, we missed him.
If you ask me there's something dodgey going on between Corithians, MSI and West Ham and I think Roman Abromovic has something to do with it. Here's my take (it's a long read lol): Everyone knows that Abromovic wants Tevez for Chelsea and it was reported asometime in 2004 that Abromovic was in Argentina (when Tevez was playing for Boca) trying to get a deal done for Tevez, however Tevez's price tag at the time was well over £60mil and even Abramovic wasn't gonna pay that much so the deal never went through. What's strange is that even thougn several eyewitnesses swear they saw Abramovic in Argentina at the time himself and Chelsea denied it and were adiment that he was in Moscow. In December 2004 Tevez claims he is fed up of playing for Boca which attracts attention from all around the world including a company known as MSI, a London-based sports investment group which immediatly ensures that Tevez doesn't leave South America (yet) and instead moves to the Brazilian team Corithians. By a matter of huge coinsidence (if you want to call it that) Tevez's good freind and fellow Argentina collegue Javier Mascherano joins Corithians aswell from another Argentinian side River Plate. It is reported that in return of being helped to leave their respective clubs, both Tevez and Mascherano had to sign a deal which basicly gave MSI the rights to who Tevez and Mascherano play their football for. While both playing for Corithians they are branded the next big thing to come out of Argentinian football; Tevez is compared to Maradonna (joining a list of many others who were too including Saviola, D'Allesandro etc. ). They are both having the best football of their young careers so far. Then out of the blue around about the time of the world cup both players claim they want to leave Corithians. Too much of a coinsidence don't you think? Throughout the summer there were reports of both Tevez and Mascherano having arguments with the manager and coaches of Corithians and that they both didn't feel wanted by the fans anymore and they wanted a move to Europe which put several clubs including AC Milan, Inter Milan, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, Athletico Madrid, Valencia, Manchester United, Arsenal and of course Chelsea on red-alert. A few days before the July transfer deadline it is reported that both Tevez and Mascherano are in London in talks with MSI over which club they're going to move to. It appears almost certain that atleast one of them is going to be joining a British club, Tevez was heavily tipped to join Arsenal whereas Mascherano was heavily tipped to join Manchester United but what the last day of the transfer window would reveal would shock the entire football world. It was reported that both Tevez and Mascherano were going to sign for West Ham on a season long loan but later on in the day it was confirmed as a perminant deal. Doesn't everyone think it's strange that last January West Ham's record fee was broken with Dean Ashton moving to the Hammers for £7.5mil and now they've signed players who are valued £20mil+ each? It doesn't really add up either that two world class players would want to join a side that only 2 seasons ago were struggling in the championship, that are mid-table and can only offer UEFA cup football. Here's where it leads back to Abromovic. It is a known fact that the owner of MSI (who ironicly happens to be an Arsenal Fan) is good friends with Mr. Abromovic. In fact if rumour-be-true then Abromovic actualy has a high streak in shares in MSI. Wouldn't it be great in Chelsea's favor if Abromovic says to the owner of MSI one day ''I want those players playing for my club''. MSI have the power to make it happen because they own the rights to both players. What Chelsea's strategy could be is making Tevez and Mascherano go to West Ham for one, maybe two years to get used to the premiership lifestyle, it also garuntees that no bigger club can get their hands on them. Then when Chelsea feel like it they could just alert MSI and Tevez and Mascherano are off to Chelsea, already equiped with premiership experience. What puts the cherry on the cake on the entire thing is that none of the details of the transfer were released, nothing at all, and what sweetens it is that if the reports are true then both Tevez and Mascherano have an agreement in the contracts they signed that allows them both to leave for a combined fee of £35mil. Of course MSI would most likely recieve the fee for all their troubles and with Abromovic's millions no one would suspect any wrong doings, supposedly buying them for £35mil wouldn't surprise anyone at all, that's pocket money for Mr. Abromovic.
You may be right, but then again maybe none of the other clubs made bids, and they joined West Ham to put themselves in the shop window (so to speak) for a bigger club to buy them in a year... whatever, I agree with Luke for the most part.
What I meant was that I don't like the way West Ham were able the broker the deal with MSI instead of Corinthians. I think the part about Abramovitch could easily be over-analysis, or people trying to victimise Chelsea.
