Samuel has the talent to be a top defender, as he showed in 03/04 when he had a great season. Since he was called up to the England squad however he's lacked consistency and work-rate. If he can't recover his confidence at 25 he'll never fulfil his potential. He isn't helped by having Bouma and Barry ahead of him, either. De La Cruz, on the other hand, was a terrible defender but a decent winger.
I remember when he took a shot from out wide in the 90th minute against Middlesborough and Mark Schwarzer saved, only for Peter Crouch to net the winner... he definitely had his moments.
i cant remember much action from Villa in recent years except for Hassan Kachloul's equaliser against Leeds in 2001/02...the bloody cheater feinted a stamp by Smith...that git....
Is Dean from Aston Villa and Hellflame(for some reason, I almost wrote 'Henry', ) from London, or do you just support those clubs because you like them? And do you support them is all leagues, or just the P'ship?
Aston Villa is not a place my friend, its the name of the club, Villa is in Birmingham, so Dean is from Birmingham....
Aston is a place in Birmingham, but West Bromwich Albion are my local team. Everyone else in my family who likes football is a fan of either Spurs or Birmingham, so I don't know what happened with me.
You came out wrong But nonetheless I'd prefer you to be a Villa fan than a Spurs fan, being a Spurs fan is just basicly saying that back in 1913 they enjoyed becoming second best in North London. As for me, my club is Arsenal because not only are they about 2 minutes away from where I live but they're also one of the most exciting teams in the world. We might not have the honours to prove it but everyone knows it.
Ooops, my bad, I'm embaraased at my pathetic lack of knowledge of British geography. Chelsea lost to MLS all stars?? What?? With Ballack and Shevy? *mutters and blames it on that overgrown moron bullock...er ballack*
Whos a Leeds fan here then? And yeah it was kinda pathetic that Chelsea lost to an MLS team when they played a full squad.
