Linkin Park is playing their third show for the year in Canada tonight, with a fourth one coming in a few weeks when they stop by Vancouver.

Toronto as a city has always been a popular destination for the band, dating back to their first year of touring all the way back in 2000. Heading up to Canada they played their first show, not just in the city, but in the country as a whole. Thankfully this entire show was recorded by an audience member, so we know the full setlist and have a good recording to listen to. The band went through all the songs off of Hybrid Theory except for 'Crawling' and 'Pushing me Away', as they weren't touring with a second guitar rig for Mike at this point. 'Cure for the Itch' also wasn't played.

In 2001 the band returned to Toronto twice, once in the summer while on the Ozzfest tour, and once in the fall with the Family Values tour. For the performance in November, the band dropped 'Forgotten' from their set in order to have the X-Ecutioners come out before the two last songs of the set and do a quick DJ Set.

On the Meteora cycle the band came to visit the city twice, once for 2003 and once in 2004. The show in 2003 was on the summer sanitarium tour, so if you've seen the Live in Texas DVD, you know what they played. For the bands performance in Toronto in 2004 the band pulled a fan named Alex on 'Faint' to play Brads guitar part, something that they occasionally would do around this time.

On the next album cycle the band once again only stopped by once per year, 2007 and 2008 only got one show each, thankfully the 2008 one was quite memorable.

For the 2007 edition of Projekt Revolution the band made not only just one stop in Toronto, but that was also the only Canadian show on the entire tour. Thankfully though, the Canadian fans got a special set with one of the incredibly rare performances of 'Qwerty' being played. The show in 2008 started off in a really weird and special way. Mike, Chester and Phoenix were the only band members who were at the venue when the band went on stage, with Rob, Brad, and Joe being held up at the airport with customs. This forced the band members at the venue to improvise, so Mike and Chester went out and started the show off with piano versions of 'Breaking the Habit' and 'Pushing Me Away' before going into a transition from 'Hands Held High' into a full band version of 'What I've Done', with Brad, Rob and Joe finally having arrived and hurried onto stage to join the show. This forced the band to have to cut several songs from the setlist, due to them coming on stage so late.

After 2008 until today, the band has only played in Toronto twice, once in 2011 and once in 2014. The 2011 show took place on Phoenix's birthday, so before 'New Divide', the band and the crowd sang Happy Birthday to him. After this show, the band had to cancel the next five shows due to Chester being sick. Almost exactly eleven years ago, Linkin Park played their last full band performance in Toronto, on August 24 2014 when they were out on the The Carnivores tour with AFI and 30 Seconds to Mars. But for promo for 'One More Light' in 2017, Mike and Chester did three separate promo appearances for various media outlets in Toronto on March 17, playing 'Heavy' at all of them.

Most recently Linkin Park has played two shows in Montreal, starting their Canada shows off strong. Not only did Emily pull off the full scream on 'Heavy is the Crown' once, she did it at both shows! The band is pretty set in their setlists at this point, continuing mostly what they've been doing this entire year. The only differences the band does currently is what they do on the intro to 'Numb' and whatever verses Mike does on his solo medley and 'Bleed It Out'. With that said though, the band decided to be a little unpredictable on the heavy rotation slot on the second night, previously they had had played 'IGYEIH' on the C set, but they instead decided to play 'Keys to the Kingdom', making it the debut for that song on this leg of the tour.

This is another show where we'll have a big staff representation. For the Wembley Stadium show we had five staff members, and at this show we have four of our staff attending and enjoying the show with all the other attendees. Two of the staff members who're attending the show were also at the Wembley show. Hopefully this Toronto show will be as special as the one in London.

With livestreaming becoming more accessible than ever, fans at home have been able to watch shows on social media via YouTube, TikTok, or Instagram livestreams from attendees. While we are not asking our readers to livestream the show, if anyone reading this finds a stream or is streaming it themselves, let us know so we can watch along with you!

Will you be attending this show tonight? Visit our official LPA Meetup Thread if so and let others know! We'd love for you to send any pictures or videos from the show our way as well @LPAssociation on Instagram and Twitter. Whether you're attending or not, come and discuss the show in our forums.

I’ve been on a self-imposed media blackout (no blood in my eye, thankfully) since this leg of the tour began to experience the show spoiler free. This despite Meta’s best efforts to throw LPL’s setlist photos on my feed algorithm for the first time ever. I’ve muted the band name and specific song titles on Twitter, and I’m using private tabs for any relevant searches.

I’ve been waiting to see Linkin Park since 2010. Circumstances have always prevented that from happening and in 2023 I resigned to the fact that I would never see my favourite band perform.

To say I’m stoked would be an understatement. Can’t wait for tonight!
