Yup, that's what we have to live with. Probably better for the environment with less plastic being manufactured, but still annoying.
And then you have opinions like this.

I got the zine and every time I Iook at my shelf I strongly consider just getting the regular CD for the sake of it fitting on the shelf rather than laid across the others.

If we're on the topic of packaging inconsistencies, another pet peeve of mine is the inconsistencies in nomenclature for the LPU CDs. Drives me nuts the different numbering schemes and all, plus the fact that it's entirely unclear if the title is meant to just be "Underground X" or "LP Underground X" or "Linkin Park Underground X" or...

I'm too used to strict title rules and matching with metadata from distributors...gah

I listened to More the Victim today and realized it sounds less like a Meteora demo and more like a From Zero song recorded twenty years early.

Wasn't that the song that they found in literal pieces and Mike put it together just for Meteora | 20? If so, it was put together while recording FZ. I could be getting it mixed up with Fighting Myself, though you could make the same case for that song, too.

That was Fighting Myself indeed, Chester vocals were found by accident by a guy from management (I think) and Mike put it all together at the time of Meteora 20 :)

Did anyone who saw them live recently notice that the guitar tone on Two Faced really smacked the shit out of you when it came in? Was it just me? The whole show sounded great but the sound on the guitar in that song specifically felt like I was being electrocuted (complimentary).

I won't see them for another three months so I can't speak to that...but...

I do find that funny because I know there's a contingent of fans who are very not pleased with Alex and his guitar tone and playing

@Qwerty19 knows what I mean I bet :shifty:

I think it's especially one who has been very vocal about it ahah

Tone wise, I'd imagine Brad most likely had a central role on all songs with Alex possibly maybe bringing in some suggestions, but who knows.

I have a confession: I hadn't listened to anything from Dead Sara, apart from about a minute of The Weatherman when Emily was rumoured to be the new singer, because I wanted her performance on From Zero to speak for itself.

This weekend I finally decided to listen to her first album as background/podcast noise, expecting to not really be blown away. Fast forward two days and I've finished the discography and I am, in fact, blown away. Banger after banger after banger. Mike absolutely made the right call based on his intuition because holy fuck this girl could sing. And yes, Unsheltered is very clearly Linkin Park doing Dead Sara.

I almost wish all the misogynistic haters could settle down for a second and just take a listen to some of these tracks, because I can see myself throwing quite a few of them into my daily playlist.

I've been waiting for the Dead Sara-grade lyricism to bleed into LP, hopefully on the next album

Idk if it's accurate to assume all the haters are misogynistic (not saying none of them aren't ofc), some are just refusing to let go of Chester and some are understandably against Scientology and refuse to admit it's not her fault she was part of it. All bad reasons, but either way

I only heard Weatherman and Lemon Scent and both are amazing. Planning to listen to the whole album soon.

Opinion: From Zero did for rock music what The Hunting Party intended to.

I think it's way too soon to say whether From Zero has had any such impact

It's in the air, you can feel it. Of course that it will not have a great impact years down the road because nothing does anymore, but since it was released it's been huge.

I mean, with LP performing at LOL and Champion's league respective finals, among other things... I can see a point in that.

Band is as huge as ever, and as a side-effect, they're bringing their current hard rock music to massive mainstream exposure.

A couple of items that didn't get news posts:

    Nick DeLaCruz
has uploaded a video where he chats with with Linkin Park's front-of-house engineer Jim Ebdon. At one point in the interview, right around the 38-minute mark, the pair discuss Ebdon's experience being a part of Linkin Park's comeback, and he also offers his perspective on the live show he helps to put on each night.

Ebdon and the band's monitor engineer Pasi Hara were previously interviewed earlier this year by KLANG, whose systems they use as part of the live show setup.

Mike Shinoda was also recently interviewed for the French rock radio station Oüi FM while Linkin Park was at Hellfest. Hosts Marie Luba and Lucas Pierre (the pair who host the station's weekly alt-rock program Bring The Noise) spoke to him about the artists whose sets he had gotten to watch at the festival ahead of Linkin Park's headlining set, and also his perspective on being a musician whose work has greatly impacted and influenced newer acts. Thx to @Qwerty19 for pinging this one.

Long shot but...anyone have any copies of old LPU newsletters? As far back as 2002.

Found a few people through Reddit who shared scans of the first two LPU 2.0 newsletters and I figured it could be worthwhile to try to get them all for archiving/preservation's sake. I'm already collecting magazines/scans of magazines with features so I figured I might as well add to it.

    Here's an example: https://imgur.com/a/PcpvqDB
