Linkin Park’s 2025 European summer run continues with a massive double-header at Deutsche Bank Park in Frankfurt am Main on July 8 and 9. With such a successful run in Germany so far, these are sure to be memorable performances as well, for a country that’s always shown Linkin Park such tremendous support!

These Deutsche Bank Park shows mark the end of the band’s German run this year, following earlier headlining appearances in Hanover, Berlin, and Düsseldorf, as well as a fall 2024 performance in Hamburg. The two Frankfurt nights will be the band's final appearances in Germany for the year. Still, the country has played a massive role in this 2025 touring year, slightly reminiscent of the energy and frequency of Linkin Park's infamous 2014 "European" fall tour—a name fans still debate, given that 9 of those 16 dates were in Germany.

Frankfurt has its own history with Linkin Park. The band’s first proper show in the city didn’t come until January 2008, when they played at the Festhalle arena on the winter leg of the Minutes to Midnight European tour. The set featured era standouts like "No More Sorrow," "Given Up," "The Little Things Give You Away," and "Shadow of the Day," showcasing many of the standout songs from the band's 2007 album. Nine of the album's twelve songs were performed in Frankfurt that night, with the audio of the band's performance of "Valentine's Day" included on the single release of "Given Up."

"No More Sorrow" opens the band's 2008 show in Frankfurt, featuring the iconic curtain drop (kabouki) extended intro.

Along with material from Minutes to Midnight, the band's 2008 performance in Frankfurt featured several other staples of that album cycle, such as the piano ballad rendition of "Pushing Me Away," "Don't Stay," and "Points of Authority"—which for this show featured an extended intro with Mike rapping "Bloc Party" from the Fort Minor mixtape We Major. The show also happened to land on Rob Bourdon’s birthday, which was celebrated by the crowd and the band singing "Happy Birthday" during the bridge of "Bleed It Out," which closed the main set. The band returned for their encore songs and finished out with "Faint."

Soundboard audio of "Bleed It Out" in Frankfurt for Linkin Park's 2008 performance, complete with a birthday celebration for drummer Rob Bourdon.

Linkin Park returned to the same venue in November 2010 on the A Thousand Suns world tour. The band’s set leaned into the thematically-tied transitions and immersion they emphasized in that era. Examples included opening with the atmospheric combination of "The Requiem" and "The Radiance" before moving into "Wretches and Kings," as well as the brooding and droning "Fallout" leading into the "The Catalyst" to kick off the encore set.

"Fallout" and "The Catalyst" open the band's encore set in 2010 with a foreboding atmosphere.

One of the more unique moments of the night came during the encore, when Mike Shinoda rapped the first verse of the Xero song "Reading My Eyes" over an extended intro to "Bleed It Out" after a fan requested it at the LPU meet and greet. This verse has made an appearance several times throughout the band's history, but this is one of the few times it was featured over the "Bleed It Out" intro rather than the bridge. The band still continued their normal extended bridge for this show, with the chorus of "Burning in the Skies" being performed during the extended bridge of "Bleed It Out" that night.

Another "Bleed It Out" performance in Frankfurt, featuring "Reading My Eyes" over the intro guitar riff!

In November 2014, the band made yet another appearance at Festhalle as part of the infamous European (or German, as some would argue) fall tour for The Hunting Party. As emphasized during this period, the show featured a mix of material from across the band's catalog, with many songs shortened to fit as much into one setlist. This included the "CASTLE OF GLASS" Experience version that integrated Mike's remix from Recharged, an instrumental "Robot Boy" transition, and even their Jay-Z collaboration "Dirt Off Your Shoulder / Lying From You." Austin Carlile (vocalist of Of Mice & Men, Linkin Park's opener for the tour) made a guest appearance on the main set closer "Faint," continuing a tour-long tradition of Carlile coming out to perform.

"Faint" closes the band's last visit to Frankfurt, with Austin Carlile joining the band on stage for the song.

Now, after 11 years, the band has finally made their way back to Frankfurt! With these back-to-back Frankfurt dates, Linkin Park is taking another huge step up in this city as well: Deutsche Bank Park (also colloquially Waldstadion) is one of Europe's larger stadium venues, boasting a concert capacity that reaches up to 60,000. Both shows are nearly sold out, with only a handful of tickets remaining outside of resales. Two stadium shows sold out is a massive step up from the 15,000-capacity Festhalle, and even is more incredible considering that the band hit Düsseldorf a week ago, just 228 km away (approx. 141 miles), underlining the band’s resurgence and enduring fanbase in Germany.

The band's festival shows in Belgium for Rock Werchter and Poland for Open'er were met with strong reception from fans, and featured a few interesting quirks! "Cut the Bridge" was performed for the first time in a festival set, alongside the return of "From the Inside" at Werchter. "Crawling" and "New Divide," both inarguably more well-known songs by the band, were dropped for both dates surprisingly.

"From the Inside" performed at Rock Werchter 2025.

The band also cut their encore rotation spot entirely to add in the "ballad" song spot near the end of the main set, in order to play "Over Each Other" at Open'er. While changes aren't drastic, the band does seem to be making some small shifts as they go!

Audience recording of "Over Each Other" at Open'er Festival 2025.

Following on from two festival shows, the band's two Frankfurt dates, along with the Saint-Denis (Paris) performance on July 11, will be the last chance for Europe to see Linkin Park's headlining show this year. After the previous trio of headlining dates in Arnhem, London, and Düsseldorf, it's safe to expect the band will use the same setlist format and make rotations in the slots we've seen.

While rotations at this point are not cleanly aligned with a defined rotation schedule, there have been roughly four rotating positions, though some songs have shifted between them. The following have been rotated through these slots in Europe:
    • Act 1: Lying From You / Cut the Bridge / From the Inside / Points of Authority
    • Act 2: Casualty / Given Up / IGYEIH
    • Act 3: Over Each Other / Good Things Go / Stained
    • Act 5: Let You Fade / A Place for My Head / Lying From You
"Crawling" and "New Divide" have been moving in and out of the setlist as "Cut the Bridge" has continued to become a larger part of the band's live performances. It seems that the band has been dropping one or both in order to include "Cut the Bridge" in addition to the Act 1 rotation song. "Cut the Bridge" has been played at every show since London at this point!

Linkin Park performs "Cut the Bridge" at Open'er Festival 2025.
These Frankfurt shows will also reveal whether Mike's solo verses over his "When They Come for Me" and "Remember the Name" mashup will continue to be unique, after he repeated a verse for the first time since Austin, Texas, using the first verse of "Petrified" in Düsseldorf. The repeat verse may have been a mistake on Mike's part—he had a couple other goofs during that show as well, such as thanking the band Spiritbox for opening, despite them not opening for that show. We will see for certain in Frankfurt though!

Mike performs his "When They Come for Me" and "Remember the Name" mashup in Düsseldorf.

With Architects and JPEGMAFIA as support acts, fans at both Frankfurt nights should be in for a great show throughout the night. This marks Architects' last show supporting Linkin Park for 2025, but JPEGMAFIA will continue on to Paris and then for several shows during Linkin Park's North American run starting at the end of this month.

The two openers, combined with the band's eclectic energy, are sure to make these double dates in Frankfurt a great way to finish off the band's run in Germany—at least until next year! The band will return in 2026 for back-to-back dates in both Hamburg and Munich, as well as headlining spots for both Rock am Ring and Rock im Park. The country continues to be a strong bastion for Linkin Park, with "The Emptiness Machine" continuing to hold steady in the German single charts, as well as the full album From Zero on the album charts. Never change, Deutschland!

You should be guaranteed "Waiting for the End" and "Overflow" at the very least! :D

And then...based on my observation so far with the rotations, it seems like for the headliner shows they are doing a consistent A-B-C progression. They just didn't count the cancelled Bern date in that, meaning Arnhem got C and it continued from there. Maybe.

So maybe Frankfurt night one gets some variation of C, night two gets some variation of A. Not that it really matters for anything other than the transitions and two of the rotations though, since those have been wildly inconsistent. If I'm right though (which is a huge if), it would be "IGYEIH" and "Stained" for night one, and "Casualty" and "Over Each Other" for night two. Then Paris gets "Given Up" and "Good Things Go."

Assuming I'm not just grasping at straws and these patterns actually mean something.

Always get excited to see how the Germany shows go

EDIT: "Valentine's Day" could actually be so good with Shinoda doing most of the lead singing, and Emily doing the higher octave backing and the belting at the end

That would be awesome. The only other double-header we've had was Saitama, right? They could make some shakeups...like QWERTY!

QWERTY QWERTY QWERTY come on Colin we know you want to do it for me and @juancpin

If I'm being realistic though, I feel like it will just be a few little shifts. Between the stature of the band at this point with a huge influx of new fans and the way they're still kind of on a mission to make it known that LP is back and as good as ever, I think maybe they're keeping to minimal changes to win over all these key markets with this From Zero cycle and the touring to support it. That's my theory.

I would love to be surprised though! Especially if it's in Nashville! :D

    :linkinpork:

Have fun Filip! Glad you finally get to see them!

Quick update for me, i bought the Heavy is the Crown package, sitting in nice location
But the acoustic is bad here...
I don't know if the closed roof helps /make it worse
We just heart the 2 warm up, and the high frequencies are insanely bad.
Luckily, they sell eear plug, so bought ones other are good to ease the high frequencies.
Something about the double speakers in the center make the sound off.
Hope when linkin park will go, it will be better

Well...I was wrong about "IGYEIH" since we got a surprise return of "Keys to the Kingdom"...

But yes on "Stained" so that's something!
