    What do you guys think?

I think that it would be something back to their roots.

I think they’ve completely abandoned their nu metal sound and will continue to do what they’ve always done. Change direction.

    No.

They did that on The Hunting Party and even a little bit on LIVING THINGS. The 'roots' have revisited twice, and there's no more need to keep going back to the well when the times they have since Meteora (LT, THP) were not commercially successful. And with Chester no longer around to do screaming parts? They should keep that part of their career connected to Chester. He was a big part of why that particular era in the band's career was so 'unique' and to make a Chester-less version of it, would pale in imitation.

Anything from this point forward needs to feel new. Period.

Good points people. Mike can scream, I’ve seen a few videos however he pales in comparison with Chester. I didn’t like One More Light primarily because I felt that they tried something which didn’t suit them. Heavy definitely sucked for me, especially because I went “Where the hell are the guitars?” after hearing it. I want to see something different, however I don’t want another One More Light. One thing I want though is more solos from Brad. The titular track on One More Light had a solo. Even a few Joe Hahn solos here and there would be great.

I don’t think anyone can predict honestly. Just take the transition from THP to OML alone. You would’ve thought they were made by different bands

Well yeah, that’s true. However, there won’t be another One More Light because it received really heavy backlash from the people. You could see comments talking about how Linkin Park died even on “Run” by Foo Fighters. Personally, I don’t think that experimenting is a bad thing. “Somewehere I Belong”, “Iridescent” and “Guilty all the Same” are some of my favorite tracks. Ever. However, when 2 albums have no consistency I think that that’s when they go too far. Look at Buckethead. His albums have 0 consistency. You have Colma on one hand then you have Albino Slug. I know I seem like that one guy who writes a whole paragraph on a text. :p

People have been saying that since at least 10 years straight, if not more. They say it every time they don't like a new album.

My point is that you can't really put any stock in it.

I have no idea at this point. It was easier to predict from THP to LP7. Now? I would assume it will be like ATS to LT. Don't think there's gonna be a drastic change from OML to the next album. Maybe more hip hop focused as that's Mike's thing?

Let's be real here, Delson's virtuosic guitar work is the reason Linkin Park shot to stardom. When all's said and done, it is 100% what defines a good song.

Anybody who denies that he is the sole reason that they got into the band is straight up lying

    Yup ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

But in all seriousness LP is a combined effort. Take away the vocals, it’s incomplete. Take away the guitars, it feels incomplete. Take away the bass, it feels incomplete. Take away the keyboards, it’s incomplete. Finally, take away the drums and it’s incomplete. I know, Brad isn’t that good. I have him as my pic, yes. But that’s because why not. :p

What I’m trying to say was that Heavy felt incomplete.

Actually, I quite enjoyed Delson's guitar riffs in the early days. Sure he wasn't horribly complex, but he when he wasn't doing powerchords he'd come up with some pretty fun riffs.

That’s for sure. Papercut’s main riff is so fun to play. :)
