Not surprised that "Wastelands" is one of the THP songs to carry over into the new tour. It was the only THP song that was constantly performed throughout the tour. Glad to see THP have some love. EDIT: So Rob apparently practices throwing sticks at the "crowd" after Bleed It Out
Though I know Linkin Park are a huge band and have singles on the radio all the time. I still get sort of happy when I hear them on the radio at my local supermarket or something and I don't know why
Meh, I'd rather have a shortened GATS or Rebellion from THP. Wastelands just feels so similar to POA and HT/Meteora in general to me. But it'll still be tons of fun at the concert no matter what.
I just hope that they play Final Masquerade on this tour. I heard 1STP_KLOSR (Radio Edit) on a rock station couple of months ago. that was pretty cool.
So this alleged and MOST LIKELY FAKE setlist was posted on the LP Reddit subforum. It looks promising, especially with All for Nothing, Powerless and Catalyst and some nice debuts, but I'm skeptic because: 1) It's only 20 songs. LP's sets average around 22-23 full-length songs (they reached 28 with the shortened songs). 2) There's no "Papercut" or "One Step Closer". I don't like OSC, but Mike has promised several times that that song will show up in some capacity, and Papercut is one of Chester's favorite songs. 3) I'm not sure how that ballad medley works. 4) Something just feels weird about it.
Even if he hadn't extensively mentioned "One Step Closer" in the context of upcoming live shows, this would still be suspicious for its absence. The most suspicious part, though, is that there's a fairly sensible amount of songs from the upcoming new album in there. The one that they'll be promoting.
Yeah usually, they'll play only the premiered songs first if the album hasn't been released yet. I'm expecting Good Goodbye, Heavy & Battle Symphony, and nothing else from the album.
I'll be surprised if they ever play any more than that for the entire damn cycle To be honest, I wouldn't blame them too much if they stuck to really heavy stuff for the br00tal ~ROCK~ festivals they'll be headlining. The thing is, though, they'll likely stay in the middle and still play songs like "Numb", "What I've Done", and probably also that damn ballad medley ... when they have at least one whole album full of heavier rock music that would be better for a metal festival set
Sorry to break it to you but the ballad medley is one of my favorite parts of their recent sets. It makes me giddy inside when they play it compared to Given Up. Probably because LOATR and Iridescent were my favorite songs at the time.
I don't mind it! It's just that the thought of them playing it during, say, their Hellfest appearance ... makes me cringe a little.
Hey, they managed to sneak in a hip hop set, a DJ set, two Steve Aoki songs and an EDM rave in their THP festivals last year so why not? But I get what you mean. Not surprised why they cut it during their 2015 shows.
I'm watching Mike's 2015 FM shows and it's surprising how good he sounds when he's singing, especially in stuff like Believe Me, High Road and Devil's Drop. He's definitely stepped up a lot as a singer.
Random: "Heavy" is killing it in the US pop charts instead of the rock charts. Glad to see that it's getting some kind of success.
