I've got massive respect for Chester being so open and honest, some of it really resonates with me.

That's why LP are still my favourite band after all these years, they are just amazing, genuine guys whose music has helped a lot of people deal with shit in their lives. Proud to be a fan and can't wait for OML.

The comment I quoted in this thread was neither well written nor thought out. 1. It misses the point completely from the article and 2. Just seems like he just wants to be confrontational for the sake of it and using 'opinion' as a lame excuse for the odd moronic post in a given thread.

    And no I'm not sorry.

You get it. Though I wouldn't say disrespectful, per se, but insensitive in the whole context of the article.

If P.O.D. can do it, why not Linkin Park?

Nice try at taking a quote out of context. You should work for The Sun.

You're killing the vibe Mikey. Chill.

Anyway, what song is everyone most excited to hear off OML? I'm interested in Talking to Myself.

It's not exactly a good vibe when it's being filled with negativity. There is a difference between having a snarky remark to showing constructive feedback based on what is present.

Having gone through some heavy shit over the years myself, reading this article has been pretty uneasy for me.

I hope more fans could understand and respect the guys instead of complaining over the sound of the new album, which must be a very personal one to the band.

I just saw a comment on Linkin Park Reddit where a person said that "fans have just as much claim to Linkin Park's music as Linkin Park themselves", and I swear that got me on my nerves pretty hard...

C'mon guys, my news thread are rare as fuck. Let's keep one damn thread bullshit free, please? Thanks.

Back to the interview - Chester seems really open and honest in this and his interviews are easily the best, imo. I was lucky to see him live during a radio interview in London in 2012 and he was so cool and a genuinely nice guy. Glad to see he is in a good place now.

@hybrid1988 - I'm looking forward to Good Goodbye, OML and Sorry For Now.

Chester sounds like a real person in interviews, Mike sounds like a marketing machine in his interviews.

Regardless of whatever opinion I have on their music at any time, the band has been influential on me positively, both as an artist(I'm a visual artist myself) and person. When I found out that they were one of the founders for Music for Relief, I knew that they were more than just a cool 'rock' band.

    P.S:
I hate to admit it but I have to agree on that. Chester occasionally does that as well when it comes to promoting and hyping an album up, but at least he isn't so pushy as Mike. To be honest, if I want to have a more realistic opinion on their albums without the (over)hype, it'll be Brad. He didn't use big words or far-fetched sentiments when promoting THP and LT.

Chester seems like the kind of guy who would be open to tell his daily struggles to anyone without being so protective and I can totally relate to that , God bless

Their album openers usually go pretty hard so interested to hear what Nobody Can Save Me is like, plus Sharp Edges as the closing track is hopefully long and epic.

Good Goodbye and One More Light are the two others I'm most excited about at this point. Plus what sort of rapping Chester does on Sorry For Now. Heck I'm pretty damn excited for the whole thing. Less then 2 months to wait now.

Great interview. Always love Chester's intimate answers.

@hybrid1988 I'm curious about "Nobody Can Save Me" as I've been digging their intro songs the last few albums. I am also interested in "Good Goodbye" because I love me some rap. Also "Sorry For Now" has my attention too.

I wouldn't say I almost teared up or anything but what Chester says in this interview, esp. towards the end, feels way too relevant to things I'm going through
