    The Handmaiden (2016) - 4.5/5

Amazing. Once again Park Chan-wook proves why he's one of the best directors working today.

    Kajaki: The True Story (2014) - 4.5/5

One of the most intense and realistic war films I've ever seen. Was completely enthralled from start to finish. I'm quite surprised at how this hasn't got more recognition.

just saw blair witch last night. it was decent. i liked how it expanded on the mythos of the blair witch, but only through subtle hints - once again nothing was explained and the last 20 minutes were disoreintating as fuck, and pretty damn terrifying. 7/10

I had never seen any of the Jason Bourne films until about 6 days ago. Me and the girlfriend have now watched all of them in that time and I actually enjoyed them more than I thought I would.

    The Conjuring - 2 (Horror)
I really liked the first one and quite enjoyed its follow-up. Pretty damn scary if you ask me.

Now I need to watch Insidious III and Sinister II (since I've already watched the prequels)
I actually consider Insidous I and Sinister I two of the best Horror films in recent memory!

Taxi Driver (directed by Martin Scorsese; Starring Robert De Niro)

Very, very impressed and pleased with this film. It's an older one that I never got around to watching until recently. It's long been one of the classic American films. I used to have no care about films at all until about 2 years ago. This is one of the ones that I missed out on as a teenager.

I can't say anything bad about this film at all. Every single actor and actress in here is in their element 100%. i'm really not sure how they all pulled it off. Scorsese, the director, makes an appearance in the film and he even gives an impressive performance. Having been to New York City before, I can say that this film authentically captures the nocturnal and busy atmosphere of the town. The film mostly takes place in downtown Manhattan and I honestly feel like I'm transported back there just by watching it.

Robert De Niro is really the pulse of everything. I've rarely been this stunned by an actor in a film. The character of Travis Bickle is the ultimate personification of the decay of New York City in the 1970s. There are also some slight spiritual overtones to his story and character arc.

Lastly the music in this film is really great. Just have to listen for yourself when you see it. You probably already have though since the film's been around for so long

    Moana - 8.5/10

Nothing groundbreaking in this new Walt Disney Animation Studios theatrical feature but definitely a really solid addition to their filmography. And don't even get me started on the music, I don't want people to throw up over my fanboyism. But Lin-Manuel Miranda, Mark Mancina, and Te Vaka all working to create the music is just great.

Mulholland Drive (2001) – Genre-busting, scary and ridiculous, intense and hilarious, thrillingly unusual and thoroughly extraordinary.

I feel too small to rate this movie/10

    Apocalypse Now Redux (1979 / 2001) - ?/10

Picked up a blu-ray copy of this a week or two ago, and finally got around to watching it.

One thing that really stuck me about this movie was how it isn't necessarily a "war" film. The Vietnam War setting is mainly used to drive home its main message, more than anything. Despite this, the battle scenes were incredible. The scope of them was absolutely breathtaking. It wasn't quite like anything I've seen before, and it's almost 40 years old now. There's something real special in knowing everything you're seeing on screen is real, captured in camera. No CGI, no bullshit.

I have yet to score it, because I honestly don't know how I feel about it. When it finished, I had the distinct feeling that I had just watched something truly profound. I still want to dwell on it, and watch it again before I make up my mind on it. It's definitely the weirdest war film I've ever seen, in a very good way

This is basically how I feel in not scoring Apocalyse Now.

Saw that one in the theater back in November. It was an excellent film.

Speaking of Hacksaw Ridge, that was the funniest movie I've seen in a long time... It was so over the top, I couldn't stop laughing half the movie... best part: when Andrew Garfield starts pulling Vince Vaughn while he shoots the bad guys. Comedy gold.

Also, La La Land - 10/10

    Suicide Squad - 0.5/5

The acting as well as the pacing of this movie were horrendous. Just about everyone in this movie, with the exception of Will Smith and Margot Robbie were a complete waste, and even they didn't feel like they should have been part of this atrocity.
