Damn Mike looks boss in that picture.

God, I hope he's singing. A melody, lyric driven album... please, God, no rapping.

At least not video footage of him ever recording vocals.

How much of LP's discography has actually been released officially in flac format?

Haha, reading this again today is hilarious! :D I completely forgot the reactions were optimistic like this! Thinking about it though, my first thought about that snippet were exactly the same. Until the release of the album, Burn It Down definitely got overplayed by me, it was good, honestly.

Well, especially with Tage Wie Diese, this song was fucking overplayed here in 2012

Well, I have to admit Somewhere I Belong was huge back then. Even when I first listened to it in 2010 (!), I loved it. And I still like it, though I don't play HT and Meteora very often.
That aside, I love how we can make these flashbacks here utilizing the forum, it's the best!

I always look back on the lead-up to "Meteora" when a new single drops and stuff. Looking at the parallels between now and 10+ years ago :)

The thing about Burn it Down is that it is just boring, yet it has the potential to be a good song. Increase the volume of Mike's harmonizing and the volume of the synth that plays throughout and you have a completely adequate track.

Everything interesting about the instrumental is muted, which is a shame.

Aint no fixing the lyrics on the chorus, however.

Yeah, it is really interesting. I also like this thread about studio updates regarding Meteora.
    http://www.lpassociation.com/forums/showthread.php?t=62
I didn't even knew the band did such frequent studio updates back then, even posted by other band members than Mike. Reading them, it feels much more intimate and personal than now, but I appreciate that Mike tries to revive that a bit today with his studio updates.
Well, the (online) community was also much smaller than today, of course. Still, I'd love such intimate posts by the band members.

Well, times have changed. Shinoda posts tweets every other day now. Stuff is normalised.

Band members used their official mssg boards too (LPU had a separate one up until ... just the other year, IIRC) so their interaction with linkinpark.com and the LPU in general has lessened greatly since the early 2000s. Their communication with fans at large via social media platforms, especially Twitter, has always been sturdy considering their stature.
