I brought up that in this thread instead. The video itself is here. I don't know how to embed from insta, but Mike just posted a picture of himself with Martin Garrix. Brace yourself, more EDM park is coming (or Martin Garrix ft. Shinoda/Fort Minor, which would be cool).
You know, I'd be absolutely okay with a Linkin Park EDM album. Recharged was remixes of LIVING THINGS, songs that already had their own sound and story. An album made up of tracks that are originally edm based could work if they are their own thing. This could be something interesting. We've seen that Mike definitely has the capability for it. His COG and VICTIMIZED remixes are pretty solid tracks.
Please be better than anything they've done with Aoki...but really, I'll keep an open mind with this.
I agree. Both I'll Be Gone remixes on Recharged were pretty great, and Chester's screams against the sounds of the LITE/LGM remixes were so badass. I have a feeling we'll be getting something like "A sky full of stars" from the band, if they're gonna have any EDM influences. However, I do hope this particular collab is just a one-off or something, as I'd prefer not to have a whole EDM album. Again, maybe like A Sky Full of Stars, there'll be one track with EDM influence among others without.
Linkin Park is just pulling out the EDM album they had wrote before THP and perfecting it. They had tons of ideas before THP started anyways. :half kappa:
Eh, I'm not gonna get upset over this, but I hope that whatever they did, if they did it, never gets released. Or at least doesn't get released on a Linkin Park album. EDIT: https://instagram.com/p/9sIbOZw_zs/
THis. Man i know experimenting, Its cool, But stay at rock music with eloctronic elements and not the opposite... This has better nothing to do with LP7.
Mike Shinoda Posts a Cryptic Photo From the Studio Today, the intrepid Mike Shinoda sent a cryptic photo from the studio. The photo consists of a set of numbers, a guitar pick, and the revealing fact that Mike drinks his coffee with a straw. The photo and message are as follows; Of course, considering the comment beside the photo, this may wind up to be nothing. However, it is also somewhat likely that "This is not a scavenger hunt" might in fact be a tongue in cheek way of lamp-shading the presence of what appears to be a cryptic code on the note, which gives the impression that it may still mean something. The guitar pick in the image might be some sort of clue or hint. The last time Linkin Park staged a scavenger hunt was during the LIVING THINGS album cycle, which spawned a massive collaborative effort to uncover and decipher the numerous codes and clues that were spread across the world, and a cool write-up about the whole affair can be found here and here. What do you think the numbers mean? Share your thoughts and theories in the forums! Source: Mike Shinoda, on Instagram and Facebook
