I hope that Hahn never abandons the MIDI Fighters Curiously, no Lemur visible in that photo That tablet could be a Surface running Windows
Lemurs, while cool, have been outclassed by other touchscreen interfaces. A lot of people are also going back to physical buttons. For what Linkin Park does I always thought a lemur was unnecessary. And your comment about the Surface, I think you're totally right. I was trying to figure out what the white thing at the bottom of the tablet was. It's the Windows logo! It must be a pretty stable and powerful little machine because in a live situation you need something with crazy low latency.
I really like how the band has been releasing pictures emphasizing the instruments and technology that have been used to create the album. This gives us more insight and may help us appreciate the overall sound more as well.
Joe's been doing endorsements/promo work for the Surface. Trust me, he'll be using it live. The band really isn't that big on Apple products anymore.
The central monitor looks a little bigger than a Surface, I'm starting to think, but, if it is a Surface, it's improbable that he'd have a second one as his main controller for lead parts as the Lemur was Hell, he could still be using the Lemur, actually. We don't know yet EDIT: my going theory is that that monitor is a Surface Pro 3, which Hahn obviously could have gotten his hands on early, and which is larger than the previous models.
Wow. What catches my attention here is that he's actually back in the studio. Don't they normally wait until the tour is over to go back to the studio and meanwhile just write on the go?
Well, there's probably a sliver of time before the tour starts where Shinoda can get the electro-pop out of his system or something.
We'll allow it. We may well start another thread like this for the next production cycle, though. I guess we'll cross that bridge when we get there
