The new trailer is here
I can't quite tell, but it looks like the prelude to the scene from the first trailer where Thor is bursting out of the water Wolverine-style. So I think it might be Thor. It wouldn't be Storm; Marvel Studios don't own the rights to her character.
Yeah, I forgot that... It's pretty annoying that MARVEL can't use these characters (X-Men, Spider-Man & F4) because of rights. I wish MARVEL/Disney starting to buy these characters again. I mean X-MEN Movies are getting dull and stagnant of these Wolverine-centric character in FOX hands and ruined by inconsistencies & plot holes, poor action sequences, Whiny Rogue (The Rogue I know is bad ass). Jeez.
They want to buy/get them back, FOX/Sony just know that they'll make more money from more movies than from a one time payment from MARVEL/Disney, that's why they refuse to sell. Disney can't spend 4 billion on every franchise/character. Enough / for everyone?
The only thing that's been bothering me about the Age of Ultron trailers is how it looks as though it's going to be Black Widow who connects with the Hulk and calms him down, instead of Betty. It's almost as if they're just ignoring all the characters from The Incredible Hulk, which is really irritating. And none of their reasons for not making another Hulk movie make any goddamn sense to me. I mean, I know they said something about the Hulk maybe being in a couple movies between now and Infinity War, but they're not going to be Hulk movies. It's just mindboggling. I mean, hell, I'd have thought General Ross would've shown up in one of these movies by now, but nope.
RUMOR: Sony/Marvel deal for Spidey in Avengers 3 Part 1 went through: http://www.ign.com/articles/2015/01/14/rumor-spider-man-to-appear-in-avengers-infinity-war-part-1
But still a RUMOR.. Man, it's time for Spidey to show up in the MCU. Same thing with Wolverine.. Damn!
For what it's worth, IGN's information comes from Latino Review, which is notorious for striking out far more than for hitting home runs. Anyway, their "information" reads to me like a fan theory someone cooked up, if only because it's very similar to my own theory on how the rest of the MCU is going to play out leading up to Infinity War. Let's assume Sony and Marvel told us Spider-Man won't be in Civil War just to throw us off the trail for when they release the first trailer and – BAM! – there's Spider-Man. Only then could I see Spider-Man being in Infinity War. Otherwise, if they worked a deal out and Spider-Man isn't appearing in Civil War, it'd make far more sense for Spider-Man to appear post-Infinity War rather than during the first part, because they'd have to spend a little bit of time explaining who the hell he is for the story's sake and that'd take away from the overall "feel" of the movie, I think. It makes more sense for Spider-Man to kick off Phase 4 with a solo movie before forming the New Avengers (or at least the MCU's version of the New Avengers). I think that made sense.
He has to be in Civil War. He just has to. Pretty sure box office numbers would rival Avengers. Captain America, Iron Man, Spider-Man, and Black Panther?
TIH didn't make any money, and got lukewarm critic & fan reception. Therefore no sequel. But the same logic would apply to Spidey showing up out of nowhere in CW as it does for IW, no? If Sony & Marvel made a deal there's no way Sony would want to wait until Infinity War (let alone after IW) to get Spidey back on the big screen. So if a deal did happen, it would be under the stipulation that a solo Spider-man, set in the MCU, would move into production rather quickly and be released before IW pt1. No he doesn't. And he isn't. They start filming in 3 months, even if Marvel got the rights for Spidey back, there isn't adequate time to rework an entire film to include him. Or rather it would be worth destroying what is probably a very good script and a ton of pre-production (including early work on CGI action scenes) to shoehorn Spidey in, resulting in a sub-par movie. Civil War will rival Avengers at the Box Office without Spidey anyway.
Sony will NEVER let Marvel do a Spidey movie without them, so we will never see a true MCU version of him. As long as Sony can make money from more movies then rights will stay at Sony, and if they still have the rights they have final say in every decision. That includes writing for the character, casting, marketing, everything. How I think it will go down: Spider-Man/Peter Parker will be in the end credits scene of Civil War, it will be a longer scene than those normally are. 1.) They wouldn't have to shoehorn him into the main movie. 2.) It would build up INSANE hype for Infinity Wars. More than what already is. 3.) They can just give a quick explanation to him and his powers, no need for another solo/origin movie. Say if Nick Fury just has a scene like the ending of Iron Man 2 where he talks to Tony in the monitor room, but replace Tony with Peter. That's just what I think would make the most sense. Hate if you want.
I know—but ever since The Avengers, fans have been clamoring for a solo Hulk movie, but Marvel keeps shooting down the idea with really stupid excuses and reasons, in my opinion. I don't think Marvel can go through Phase 3 without a solo Hulk movie, which seems like their plan. (I also don't think he's going to be featured in a team-up movie, either.) After going through Phase 2 without a Hulk movie, going through Phase 3 without one is going to be a mistake. I've got a feeling they're going to lose Mark Ruffalo, which would be a huge disappointment, because he's spectacular as Bruce Banner. Now, let's say they decide to follow the Hulk's comics storylines a little bit, and decide to launch the Hulk into space during Age of Ultron (which seems likely, near to the end of the movie), or they do it at the beginning of Civil War (giving Ruffalo a cameo appearance), setting off the events of the Civil War itself. If they do that, they can't afford to not have a Phase 3 Hulk movie explaining where he's been. Let's say they do that, and wait until Infinity War 2 to bring him in (which seems to be the movie where everyone teams up, I think)—that would be absurd, in my opinion. What's-his-name already said the Hulk isn't going to be in Guardians 2, so we can rule out the Hulk appearing there if he does get launched into space. The Hulk can't just show up with the Guardians of the Galaxy without an explanation (because that's what would be likely to happen, if he got launched into space). All I'm saying is they're doing the Hulk dirty and I think it's ridiculous that they keep hyping up Ruffalo's performance as Banner and then not giving him any legitimate screentime. I think it'd be far easier to introduce Spider-Man in Civil War than it would be to introduce him in Infinity War (part one or part two) because we'll already know who all the major players are going to be, and to introduce Spider-Man in IW would just seem wonky. "Oh, hey, by the way, here's this guy who thinks he's a spider, he's on your team, good luck." Nick Fury will have already kept the Avengers up to date on the Defenders, Black Panther and Doctor Strange, so to have Spider-Man pop up out of nowhere won't make much sense. To me, it'd be easier to work him into Civil War as an up-and-coming hero that Fury finds out about and basically tells him to pick a side—and since he'll be the only hero (that we know of) with an actual secret identity, it could work out. And bringing him in during IWpt2 wouldn't make much sense, either, because that's ostensibly the movie in which the Inhumans and the Guardians of the Galaxy are going to join the Avengers to fight Thanos. Spider-Man would get lost in there, I think. At least, that's how I see it. If Marvel were smart, they'd buy Spider-Man from Sony, but that's not feasible and would be incredibly expensive. Alas. I like your idea, though. I think what would make it cooler is if he's sitting at the desk and Nick Fury's talking to him, but the audience doesn't know who he is—until Fury drops down a folder and the kid opens it to a picture of Spider-Man caught on S.H.I.E.L.D. surveillance. Then Coulson walks in. Then a little exposition takes place as Coulson explains that he's the director of the real S.H.I.E.L.D. Oh, man... I got shivers thinking of that. But now that I've said that, I'm curious as to how they're going to work in the S.H.I.E.L.D. from the show—Coulson's S.H.I.E.L.D. I'd like to see those characters cross over into the films.
Sorry guys. Sony has just debunked that rumor. http://www.comicbookresources.com/?page=article&id=58480
