The only artwork that I really liked from the band was Hybrid Theory and Reanimation. Everything after that seemed very grey and boring. It fits well for the albums I guess (MTM, ATS) but overall there just feels like a lack of color or imagination. For example, in Meteora, the actual Meteora are large rock complexes with monasteries on them. The album artowrk, however, is just some dude with a spray can... Wee... It would of been really better if the album artwork was something like the Breaking the Habit Single artwork: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Breaking_the_Habit But that's just me.
Well, for me ATS (DELUXE) is great. It shows the darkness and especially the light in this darkness (or hope in a world of desperation). Living Things is the only ALbum i would say i dont really like it. With LP7 they should try to put the songs via images on the cover
Just some of Mikes paintings again. Of what is pretty much irrelevant, I just like his art. The drawn version of Hunting Party is pretty great though, that should have been the official artwork.
I loved the Meteora and A Thousand Suns artwork. All of the painting they did on that wall for Meteora. It was so complex, and it really exemplified the "work in progress" theme they had for Meteora. And the ATS artwork was really interesting and cool, with all of the black and white. Snakes and skulls n' birds n' shit. MtM and Living Things artwork are the most meh, and Hybrid Theory and Reanimation take a second place. Don't know how I feel about THP yet.
That's not "little more edge". I really love NIN artwork. I mean, look at that. Disturbing at it's very nature.
LP needs to do Korn-esque artwork, in the style of See You on the Other Side or something. That album cover still unnerves me.
Living Things. And Michele, while that looks cool and all, there's just something about it that I don't like. Maybe it's cause when I look at that art I see a ginormous object in the sky, opposed to in the original it looked like a person was hunting something/someone.
Came here to post The Hunting Party Vinyl Edition. Satisfied that it was already acknowledged. Beautiful cover.
Like if any of these was THP's cover:- [THUMB]http://www.lpassociation.com/upload/images/112114-054953_2.jpg[/THUMB] [THUMB]http://www.lpassociation.com/upload/images/112114-055053_4.jpg[/THUMB] [THUMB]http://www.lpassociation.com/upload/images/112114-055216_7.jpg[/THUMB] [THUMB]http://www.lpassociation.com/upload/images/112114-055149_6.jpg[/THUMB] Although, I think if this was the cover, the album would disappoint us I don't find that a least bit disturbing
Hmm, when I said Vincent Locke I had some of his work with another band in band in mind. A band who's artwork still finds itself banned in numerous countries.
I don't really like THP art for the album, and really I don't think the name fits either. I would choose something like the MTM cover for THP, where it's just the band or something like the Given Up single artwork. I like everything else, LT could've been a little better. The LT animations looked great in motion, but in a still image it doesn't feel alive. Maybe some motion blur or something.
