Boyhood - 10/10 A film that's not for everyone. It's beautiful, poignant, heartfelt, wise, and human.
So people want to buy the DVD or watch it multiple times in the theater. Or buy merchandise because they want to be a part of that culture. Its rewatchability factor is almost directly tied to how good the movie is. If you make a movie that doesn't challenge the viewer intellectually or doesn't amaze them visually it probably won't be watched more than once and probably won't be as entertaining as another movie that does one or both of those things.
There are many movies that I love that I wouldn't watch a second time. For example Oldboy. Rewatchability doesn't always go hand in hand with the quality of a film imo.
The Hobbit: The Battle of The Five Armies 3.8/5 I think it was a good way to end this movie, maybe not perfect but good. There are some very critical points i wont point out , because i would spoil something. But nothing very bad. Maybe one thing they could cut out of the movie but all in all a good ending. My friends (who read the book) was really disappointed , but i know that they would Its a lot darker than the other two an thats a good point in my opinin. How i said , some critical points, but its a good way to end The Hobbit.
I'm kind of on this side, which made me ask the question in the first place. It's true that I'm not a movie buff, but I don't feel like watching many of the films I like for a second time.
I've watched The Big Lebowski probably 30 times. The Tarantino movies get a lot of replay from me as well. Just watched Django last night for the 3rd time. Pulp Fiction never gets old. Kill Bill Vol. 2 makes a strong case for my favorite movie. Most movies I like I'll only watch twice at the most. A lot of my rewatches lately have been foreign films. I watched Woochi last week and The Man From Nowhere both for the second time. I go back and watch I Saw The Devil about once a year. If there's a movie that I really like there's no way I can watch it once.
Speaking of Man From Nowhere, I wouldn't mind watching it again. That was a damn good film. - Gone Girl (2014) - 4.5/5 Goddamn. Still processing what I just watched. Loved the movie. Twisted, manipulative, dark.
The Hobbit: Battle of the Five Armies - 4/5 Loved it and, currently, my favourite movie of the trilogy. I read that it attempted at drama but didn't succeed at all. I disagree. Some questions are still left unanswered, but overall, I'm very satisfied with the movie. I was going in expecting a good movie but stepped out loving the movie. Of course, I'll have to see it again to give it my final thoughts, but I can't see myself disliking this movie anytime soon.
