    TBH this year's grammy nominees are alright. Other than a few gripes, I'm fine with the featured artists, especially the Rock & Metal categories. Childish Gambino even nabbed 2 nominations, HAIM is finally nominated for Best New Artist, and Coldplay's in the pop category this year. Heck, even the Guardians of the Galaxy got a Best Soundtrack nom.

    It makes me genuinely sad that there are tons of people who will never experience and appreciate a lot of the music I absolutely adore. That may be a very pretentious and arrogant attitude to have, but it's the truth. :/

    I think lots of people feel like that until it actually happens. I think a band's exclusivity can be part of the appeal. I know people who say "I loved Tool until they got big." it's nothing to do with the music, people just want to feel like something is their own. I would never want metal to be mainstream. I like it being this exclusive thing.

    Meanwhile one of my friends in school commented "you don't really listen to any music, do you?" when I didn't know any of their Croatian shitty shit. I was so annoyed.
