I'm not going to lie, this made me laugh. In all honesty, I'm glad someone makes an effort to start new conversations about the band, but it seems like it's the same topic over and over and over and over again. The answer to your question can be found in the band's mainstream origins. It's very difficult to change someone's opinion once they have it, and the initial popular opinion on Linkin Park was they are a manufactured boy band bringing pop to rock music through angsty lyrics and overly produced instrumentals. Sure, the band has changed immensely since then, but some criticisms still remain the same. It all comes down to this, though: if you like Linkin Park, who gives a fuck if no one else likes them? Be proud to be a fan of Linkin Park, as you said, they one of the biggest bands in the world.
But seriously , maybe you should asked this in Random LP chat instead to make a own thread. Its not such a "Big Theme" to talk about, nothing news worthy. To answer your question: Becuase they arent heavy for people, i mean people cry out for HT and Meteora part 2 , but call it emo music. There is nothing wrong with LP , just with some people who dislike them for beeing sucessful.
Don't you know? They aren't even a band. They were put together by Warner Brothers to cash on sad angsty teenagers. I would know, my cousin used to work there and let's just say that their producer had a big hand in their sound.

In my opinion, I think it people think they're "too good". I know I am going to come off as a mainstream tween but for what my word is worth on the internet; I think other 2 artists that get love now but will get hate later are Taylor Swift and Lorde. Both really really good and consistent artists. Again for what my word is worth, this is coming from a guy who tries to stay away from radio music as much as possible.
