Hmmm. Unbiased-ly critiquing the albums, I'd put it like this;- ATS > MTM > HT > THP > LT > MT With how my tastes have grown, I currently put them in this order of interest;- THP = ATS > MTM > HT~MT >>> LT I generally consider Hybrid Theory and Meteora to be sister albums and lump my interest in them both together. I like them equally.
A Thousand Suns > Living Things > Minutes to Midnight > The Hunting Party > Hybrid Theory > Meteora I hope THP will grow on me. I really hope...
A Thousand Suns > The Hunting Party = Hybrid Theory > Reanimation > Hybrid Theory EP > Minutes to Midnight = Meteora = Living Things > Recharged
The Hunting Party> Hybrid Theory > Minutes to Midnight > Meteora > Living Things > ATS Not hating on AT, just wasn't my thing. I respect it for the amount of work put in and how diverse it was. I'm just all about the hard rock haha. Man just The Hunting Party is so awesome. I really can't be any happier that LP put this out. Wonder what the demo's they ditched sounded like?
Minutes to Midnight > The Hunting Party = A Thousand Suns > Hybrid Theory > Meteora > Living Things The Hunting Party may move up or down in a few months, but so far it's surpassed my expectations. Especially after Until It's Gone came out, that song worried me at first but it's grown on me that's for sure.
A Thousand Suns > The Hunting Party > Reanimation > LIVING THINGS > Minutes to Midnight > Hybrid Theory > RECHARGED = Meteora >> Collision Course
1. A Thousand Suns 2. The Hunting Party, Hybrid Theory 3. Living Things, Minutes To Midnight 4. Meteora
After a few listens, this album is right on par with Minutes to Midnight, maybe a little better. -A Thousand Suns -Hybrid Theory -The Hunting Party -Minutes to Midnight -Reanimation -Living Things -Meteora -Recharched Good album. Very, very solid. Listening to to iTunes stream, can't wait to get my copy. I connect with music in my car. So I'm sure this will change, maybe not.
Please look at this poll from 2012 before writing your comparison. I thought it could be quite interesting... http://www.lpassociation.com/forums/poll.php?pollid=830&do=showresults I mean, there are not too many people here placing THP on the first place. Meanwhile most people in this poll put LT on the first place. And LT was just leaked back then, similar to THP today. So this clearly means LT is better than THP!!!
actually i think people here learned with that mistake. and LT was the kind of album thats catchy at first but gets boring quickly. THP is the opposite i still like LT a lot anyway
Well since I can't decide my ordering anymore, Ill go with tiers: SS Tier: S Tier: Hybrid Theory, Minutes to Midnight, Living Things, A Thousand Suns, A Tier: B Tier: C Tier: Meteora F Tier: No comment on THP yet
Blake, I'm gonna steal your idea to use the tiers. Seems like it's easier to decide. I'm leaving off SS tier because I think it's pretty much impossible to have an album that couldn't have had a single improvement. S Tier: Hybrid Theory, Reanimation, Minutes to Midnight, A Thousand Suns A Tier: The Hunting Party B Tier: Meteora, Living Things C Tier: Recharged F Tier: Tried to do my most average opinion of each album, but honestly my ranking would change day to day by a spot or two for each album. While Meteora would be my least played LP album nowadays by a good margin, there are still times when it's just fun to rock the fuck out to. Lying From You is a great example, it's a dumbass song with very clunky lyrics (lying my way from you? dafuq?), but that riff is fun as hell to play on the old guit fiddle and it's got a great mosh/bounce feel live. I'll blast that shit driving down the highway at 100mph. Sometimes I want to sit down with headphones and listen and think, and I would never click over to Meteora, then. I'd put on ATS or parts of MTM/LT. When I find myself feeling down I can't get enough of the more emotional stuff. When I'm at the fraternity house at a party and I'm DJ'ing, I'll play a song or two off of Recharged. (I think a lot of the reason for the Recharged hate is that a lot of the EDM styles are beer pong/drinking/dancing music that really only sounds great at a big party/club) It's fluid, but that's what has made me stick with LP all of these years. There is something for every mood.
tier makes it way easier to do it SS Tier: S Tier: Minutes to Midnight, A Thousand Suns, Reanimation, The Hunting Party A Tier: Living Things B Tier: Meteora, Hybrid Theory, Recharged C Tier: F Tier:
I somewhat agree with you- Only one album would go on my SS list, my favorite of all time and the only album I give a 10/10
I mean there are a FEW, but I would save that level for absolute masterpieces, like Sgt. Pepper, Pet Sounds, Creedence Clearwater Revival and the Eagle's Greatest Hits albums, Zepplin IV, etc.
Terms of energy, quality, lyrics, and mental visualization and stimulation... THP > HT > LT > ATS > M > MTM
