It was barely even an opinion! It was just an insult!

 

I have to agree with this. What I tried to say earlier, but more elaborate

Insults and Opinions can be one in the same.

Example: Filip is a bigoted shit.

An insult, for sure, but still acts as an opinion. It's the same as saying a transexual or drag queen is an "it." It's an opinion, but there is no absolute truth with opinions, it's all subjective. You have the right to feel the way you do, and Filip has that very same right.

 

Here's a comparison: I'm a Christian. Every now and then you come into this thread, and take a huge shit on Christianity, Christians, and everything even remotely close to religion. And what do you get? An applause from people like Robert. Even though religion has been here in some forms as long as the human race, and Christianity itself for thousands of years, apparently it's fine to go online and just drop that. Seek tolerance and give hate.

But now, a girl with a beard wins the Eurovision, and I say it's fucking ridiculous, and I get crucified?

 

A woman with a beard isn't harming anyone. Has religion caused harm? Absolutely. I'm not saying that's an absolute truth for all of religion, I used to consider myself a Christian, and the majority of the people I knew at my church are among some of the best people I know. But the fact is that religion has been used as a tool of violence, hate and brain washing throughout humanity's history.

I would much rather tolerate a woman with a beard, who's causing nobody harm, versus religion, that has had the very opposite affect in general.

alright, you have a point. What you said is still shitty but you're right, I can be pretty shitty when it comes to religion. So lets just call this for civility's sake.

 

Wow, yesterday I went to a Metal festival called 'Rockhard' and it was awesome as fuck.

 

Bleh. Some take the stance and have the misconception that religion and sexual diversity are mutually exclusive, they're not. I'm catholic, and I see plenty of shit thrown at a whole population merely for the actions of some extremist idiots. I don't like it but I prefer to lead by example and choose not fight hate with hate.

I live my faith in a particular way, I'm not a church person, but I'm one to think we can all live together in the same world, cheesiness aside.

 

In our defense, this whole thing started over a chick with a beard, which is undeniably random

 

Nothing can beat the 2006 Eurovision edition with the Finnish band Lordi. That was such a slap in the face compared to the other countries.
