Based on what everyone heard about "The Hunting Party", could this be the album that surpasses Hybrid Theory and Meteora? In my honest opinion, it can.
wastelands, until it's gone and guilty all the same plus final masquerade are the softest tracks on the album so
To compare, which songs are Heavy in HT & Meteora? HT: 3,5 One Step Closer Runaway (only the Bridge) By Myself A Place For My Head Meteora: 6 Don't Stay Lying From You Hit the Foor Faint Figure.09 From The Inside THP: 7 (from the Reviews we've got) Keys to the Kingdom (Much more Heavier than everything from HT/M) All For Nothing Guilty All The Same War Rebellion (same as KTTK) Mark the Graves A Line In the Sand (except the intro & outro) And Wastelands felt with Points Of Authority and Forgotten in the type of middle Heavy scale. Until It's Gone = Numb, Pushing Me Away, Crawling. Easier To Run.... So, THP is going to be HEAVIER as HT & Meteora!
Mark the graves and ALITS arent considered heavy, or? All for nothing isnt heavy as far as i know so that makes 4 for THP Also, its an opinion if a song is heavy for you or not and you have to compare the heaviness of the track to another track For example OSC could be heavier than any THP track does that make the Album heavier? I say it again: ITS AN EXAMPLE BEFORE YOU START BASHING
HA? I"m BASHING here anything. The Thread said: "Heaviest LP Album to Date?" so i've just give in my OPINION (based of THE REVIEWS) of which one is the Heaviest LP Album to date (especially when Mike & co. stars talking all night long of the Heaviness of This album). And I did not say I HATE HT & Meteora. So CALM DOWN.
People who have heard the album said that it is their heaviest album to date. and this. The album has been confirmed from TurtleGuy to rock harder than the songs we have heard so far except FM. I expect all the other songs with vocals to be heavy even if they don't have screaming KTTK confirmed to be heavier than any song on HT/M. In the veins of QWERTY (live). and about making 4, I disagree. I think AFN is heavy, it just doesnt have screaming based on the reviews. ALITS was described as ATS soft start into Shredding rock ballad, into soft Mike part. Wether or not that Shredding Rock Ballad is heavy is yet to be seen. But from what ive read, it seems like it is heavy. TurtleGuy confirmed MTG to be heavy. So 7 heavy songs seems likely. And even Wastelands has some heavy instrumentals. So that would make: Keys to the Kingdom All For Nothing Guilty All The Same War Wastelands Rebellion Mark the Graves A Line In the Sand which is 8 songs and every song with vocals except UIG and FM And If everything I said is true, thats 8 songs out of 12 being heavy. that's 2/3 of the album which is more than enough, especially to be considered there heaviest album. Also, thats 4/5ths of the vocals tracks being heavy if everything I said turns out to be true.
Lying from You alone SHITS on whatever heaviness these songs might have, only Wastelands so far has shown hard hitting guitars but everything else has been fucking soft man. If some HT or Meteora lover guy comes in and says that THP is STILL not what they wanted the band to ""go back to"" I can fully understand them 100%.
No chance that LP is dead. I was listening to By Myself the other day for the first time in years, and that bridge hits you so damn hard. LP will never release songs that heavy again.
The instrumentation of GATS is heavier than BM for sure I don't think so. Im almost positive KTTK and posibily War will be more heavy than LFY. and by far. KTTK was compared to QWERTY (live) in terms of heaviness and QWERTY (live) is quite a bit heavier than LFY IMO. And at calling GATS soft. Screams are not the only thing to make a song heavy. Gats instrumentation makes the song at middle ground on the heavy scale.
This thread... I don't think you can measure the heaviness of an album by counting the number of heavy songs or whatever. What is more important is how the record, as a whole, leaves you with an impression of "Wow. That was intense!". We'll see if THP delivers on that. On wether or not it will be heavier than HT/Meteora... I think it will, based on the reviews we have got so far. But it would not be a drama if it happens to not be the case.
Not only Lying From You, also Hit the Floor, damn that chorus with the short pauses and that calm Moment where chester explodes after By Myself hits hard too
All too true. "heavyness" is subjective. For me, songs like "Guilty all the same" are heavier than tracks like "By Myself" or "Hit The Floor" mainly because the tempo rarely falters, the guitars continue for the majority of the song, and the drums never let up. And on HT, people often forget songs like "With You". true, the verses are very soft and melodic, but when the pre chorus kicks in it kicks hard. Brad uses a 7 string guitar! On that thought, thats a common occurrence with many HT/Met songs where the verses are very soft and only the choruses are heavy in the old NuMetal style. Lp's Heaviest songs? My two cents... And One Part of Me One Step Closer With You Runaway By Myself A Place for My Head A.06 Don't Stay Lying from You Hit The Floor Figure 09 From the Inside QWERTY (Live) Given Up No More Sorrow When They Come for Me Blackout Wretches & Kings Victimized
