    Lyrics i'm going with -

    Uh!
This is war with no weapons, marching with no steppin'
Murder with no killing, ill in every direction
First, no sequel, do the math, no equal
    John with no Yoko
    More power, less people
And no, I'm not afraid of that, print in your paperback
Every rapper's made in fact, to act as a delayed attack
Every phrase a razor blade, and save it til they play it back
Slay em leave em laying on the paper bank, fade to black!

    In the wastelands of today
When there's nothing left to lose
And there's nothing more to take
As you force yourself to choose
    In the wastelands of today
    When tomorrow dissappears
    When the future slips away
And your hopes are turned to fear
    In the wastelands of today

Roll credits, forget it, the show's done
They're talking for just talking, meaning they got none
None of you come proper, they talk like a shotgun
But how many got bred with integrity, not one
So no, I'm not afraid to see you suckers hold a blade to me,
Ain't no way to shake the ground I built before you came to be,
Take it how you take it, I'm the opposite of vacancy,
And this not negotiation, I can hear you, wait and see!

    In the wastelands of today
When there's nothing left to lose
And there's nothing more to take
As you force yourself to choose
    In the wastelands of today
    When tomorrow dissappears
    When the future slips away
And your hopes are turned to fear
And your hope tuns into fear
    In the wastelands of today

    In the wastelands of today
When there's nothing left to lose
And there's nothing more to take
But you force yourself to choose
    In the wastelands of today
    When tomorrow dissappears
    When the future slips away
And your hopes are turned to fear
And your hopes are turned to fear
    In the wastelands of today
    In the wastelands of today
    In the wastelands of today

@Feenix: I'm not sure what Chaster sang on the chorus in line "And your... turned to fear" It feels like one of hope/world/love.

Definately sounds like "hopes" for sure. It would be good if someone who got a CD started getting a lossless copy round though!

If it's "hope", it would be singular :)

Wow! Love the lyrics, love the rapping, love the instruments, but hey guess what? Chester's voice is once again weaker than what the song demands. He seemed to be building to a big scream, but like the previous to singles, he seemed to cop out at the last second. Damn I really hate myself for thinking this, but it really seems he can't scream anymore. Looks like joining STP and making new LP stuff was not the most seamless of ideas. He sounds genuinely like he permanently strained his voice.

A vast improvement over the previous two songs, but my earlier post still stands

KTTK? It's coming.. I bet the rest of the album is made with less screaming because we must have some time to grab our shit together after the opener.

Less screaming is a bad thing dutchsoilder. If that's the bulk of "screaming" for the album then oh dear.

So only 3 have screaming? Jeez and not only that the three songs chosen as singles don't really have any screaming, so yeah more than a little concerned.

Besides the fact that I'm oblivious as to how the drums compare to WTCFM in any way.... all I have to say is, um...

    No.

Some of the people in here (albeit a very select few) act like Chester screaming at the top of his lungs for minutes on end, is the only thing required to make a classic or good Linkin Park song. Not so. In my opinion, some of the band's best work has been when Chester cools it down a notch, and actually lets his pure vocals shine through, instead of straining himself to scream as hard as possible on record.

I can promise you all that there's plenty of aggressive vocals on THP. Just don't go expecting Chester to scream like on Hybrid Theory or Meteora. Those screams on the old albums (when you hear the acapellas) are dramatically layered and overprocessed, and there's even reverb effects on some of them. Hence why songs from that era have always sounded different live. My point is...Chester sounds a lot more natural and less polished on this record. Some people may hate that, but I personally am very fond of it. It's raw, and it feels more authentic.

I actually think this song would be better if it contained less screamy vocals, like use the melody for the bridge as the chorus, still wouldn't make it a great song though. Better but not great. :/

    Scream =//= Heavy. :rolleyes:
