I wasn't implying anything with the link. Just adds to the conversation. I also don't categorize Linkin Park to only one genre so i don't call them a rock band.
Back to the interview: Does anyone else get the feeling watching these that either mike or a PR guy sat down and came up with a list of talking points/descriptions that he reads from on every interview? It's just that he does it every new event cycle, at least since somewhere between ATS and LT (at least that's when I really started noticing it). With LT it was firecrackers from the toolbox. With this it's rock is broken fix it with visceral. Interviews are starting to seem so scripted that the info just isn't as accurate. It's been put through too many buzzword filters and the passion/intelligence is gone. The MFR press has gotten the same way, too. Maybe it's just broken connections with the real world from being a celebrity for too long. (I definitely think this last part had begun to affect their lyrics. Can't write lyrics that deeply connect with people if you don't have anything in common with most people any more, amiright?) I agree, for the most part. I would say they are part rock band and part a bunch of other things, but rock band as a label by itself, no. Although honestly rock as a genre and LP are on intersecting paths as they keep evolving IMO.
When you do dozens of interviews and get asked the same exact questions in every single interview, your answers are going to begin to sound a little scripted. If these interviewers asked unique questions sometimes, we wouldn't get the same interview over and over.
They should just make an album and say "here's just bunch of songs that made it through the cut" without every album always having a well thought out story about how the album came to be
You do realize you're on a Linkin Park fansite, right? You don't get much simpler than Linkin Park. And if you knew anything about guitar-work, you wouldn't really call Jonny Buckland's guitar-playing simple.
Couple things: 1. I've never praised Linkin Park for their complex guitar-work 2. I never judged Jonny Buckland's guitar-skills as a whole. I was only talking about specific songs. You call that complex guitar-playing? If you do that's fine i just disagree that's all. Could we not talk about Coldplay anymore on this thread? You can PM me if you want to talk about it more.
Or the solo on True Love, Death and All His Friends, or any other solo Jonny's done... Presenting Politik as an example of Coldplay's best guitar work is like presenting Until It's Gone as Linkin Park's best guitar work. It's a very poor argument.
Coldplay fans unite! Sorry didn't make it to the solo i got so sleepy i had to pause. Did i really present it as Coldplays best guitar work? Don't worry, i'll do the work for you. Here's my quote *drumroll*: Psst. the answer is: No i didn't.
Yes probably just one, maybe 2 but yes You must have not got the memo. It's being change to ColdplayAssociation
They are playing a live show in Arizona. Just speculating if they would debut one of the live songs at the show
Maybe. I'd say there's a 50/50 chance. We'll hear GATS and UIG live at the very least which should be great. Wonder if they'll bring in Rakim for the live premiere.
I think we good get 1 new song tbh. Mike said he wanted to release more music before the album. This could be one way. I just can't wait for fans to overreact of this show is like last years set lists and not much change I think this set list won't be an indication of the future tour. Maybe a little bit, but not much cause of all THP songs still to come EDIT: Scratch my edit!
