I think I'm going to lay back on answering questions for a while. I'll still post in this thread, but I've answered too much already and there's a lot of things I'm being asked that I can't answer due to confidentiality agreements. Besides, I don't want to abuse the privilege I had in being able to write this review.

But I'm glad you all liked the article though. I really appreciate all the kind words, and I'm glad I could get this for the fans. I'm very confident you'll all like the album when it drops in June! It's killer!

Okay, I'll answer the two above and then I'll respectfully have to decline answering anymore. What I put in the article was really all I was authorized to say, and I don't want to upset the band's management. Hope you all understand.

Powerchords: No clear powerchords from what I could hear. Definitely more riff based.
Screaming: 4 out of 6...with another being borderline 'screamy'.

    Wow. Fucking wow.

Dude, you have got it made being an Admin at this site. haha

A few things I'd like to comment on...firstly, thank GOD we're done with the #ALLCAPSALLDAYEVERYWHEREEVERYTIME bullshit.

Secondly, I suppose it's a concern that may or may not be valid, but hearing that there's major influences from the bands in which these guests derive from isn't something I particularly want. I don't want LP's songs to sound like Helmet or SOAD. I could listen to those bands for that. I realize these musicians bring with them an influence that harkens back to their origins, but I'd like it very much if the sound remained true to the rest of The Hunting Party. Again, this may or may not be an actual issue, but it's written in the review so I wanted to mention it.

Finally, and I know you said you were done answering questions Derek, but I'm curious to eventually find out how Chester's singing is on this album. I remember first hearing BID and thinking that it was remarkable that Chester was still giving some of his strongest performances to date. Listening to GATS quite a few times now, I sort of feel the opposite. The first verse especially, his voice sounds much weaker than it ever has. It doesn't sound bad, but it doesn't have the UMPH and the force that his vocals normally deliver. I wonder if that was a stylistic decision on the band's part, or if it's natural wear and tear for a middle aged man who's spent several decades screaming.

Regardless, these description have me so pumped for THP. It sounds so far like UIG is going to be one of the few "lighter" tracks on the album (at least from what's been heard on the sampler so far), so I can't wait to hear the raw gnarly sound the rest of this album has.

Let me clarify...the influences are there, but the songs are Linkin Park. These aren't copies of other bands, but instead...Linkin Park paying homage while making the tracks totally their own.

And Chester sounds great. Personally fond of his singing vocals on Until It's Gone.
