Really? Those two are some of my favorite tracks on the album.

I hear what you're saying. Survival is the weakes track on that album IMO. If that was a cover of a Queen song it wouldnt have shocked me. And Muze is definitely better shen thwy just do Muse.

I wish I could remove the very idea of Queen from their minds, Inception-style.

But Inception doesn't work like that. You can plant a new idea in someone's head, but you can't erase old ones!

I like the new albums just fine but they don't have a unique sound anymore like they did on albums 2-4. Starting with Resistance, the Queen influence overpowered their own sound. The psychedelic avant-garde-ish sound they had on Absolution was IMO their peak.

Yeah well, that's just like your opinion, man

People always point to Origin of Symmetry as Muse's best album, but it's a real close second to Absolution. With tracks like Apocalypse Please, Time Is Running Out, Blackout, and Hysteria, Absolution is just plain better.

I also prefer Absolution. Just putting that out there!

I always found the solo on Blackout quite annoying, until I saw the performance on HAARP. My god, that performance is fantastic.

The solo is meant to be played live. The studio version doesn't do it justice at all.

I need to like, hire someone to proofread my posts

Lol It seemed like you took a swipe at Queen. And nobody talks down on Queen and gets away with it!

What they're doing sounds similar to The Hunting Party. Stripping away the electronics and experimentation of their last few albums and going back to basics.

No way, I love Queen. But bands should sound original no matter how inspired they are by other artists. I feel like Resistance in particular crossed that line But I guess it could be argued even BH&R sacrificed the experimental edge in favour of very U2-esque songs.

While I do think the queen influence is rather obvious, especially on the 2nd Law, IMO Muse still really only sounds like Muse to me.

Really, though. These early 00's artists.

Beginning with LT being back to basics, then MMLP2, now Coldplay's doing something similar to what they did in the beginning of their career, THP, and now Muse.
