I'm just... wow. This so fucking awesome to hear.
And I'm guessing either a late April single release with a late June album release, or a late June single release with a late August album release. Just throwing that out there.

Not really feeling the self-produced bit. Disturbed went that route and I've always felt it lead to a downgrade in their quality. Not going to dismiss it yet, it just killed the enthusiasm a bit.

    I just shat.

EDIT: To elaborate further, the part about being "inspired" is what's making me shit my pants. It didn't feel like Living Things was so much an inspiration, rather than going through the motions.

Specifically mentioning the "different" sound than their last album also has me excited. Living Things was a "fun" album, but I'm ready for something deep again. Something to experience.

    Bring on summer.

That photo isn't new tho it was posted recently. Anyway, this is some great news. So a summer date is pretty much confirmed.

That's because Disturbed, for the most part, was a shitty band. They had no creativity unless someone was there to do it for them, or guide them rather.

This album's process seems to be different in many ways. Nice to hear that; I'm excited.

To offer a rebuttal on that...Mike Shinoda was pretty much the producer on Reanimation (with the band self-producing the tracks they did on their own) and Reanimation is considered by many fans to be some of the best work the band has ever released.

The HT EP was also produced by Mike (with help from Andrew Murdock) and some of those songs were more experimental and creative than the songs found on the HT LP. Also, if we're going to get REALLY technical here, Mike produced and did the entire Fort Minor album (Jay-Z was just executive producer) plus "Razors Out" and The Raid soundtrack, and all were very decent.

So don't shit on the self produced part yet. Because depending on how you look at it, this could be the best news to come out of an LP album cycle in a long time.

    E X C I T E D.

Linkin Park take my money! That blog by Mike sounds really exciting, seems like they're really going against the usual parameters, and that alone makes it very interesting.

I hope this album can display the level of crafting we know they can achieve. Can't wait.

Yeah but David Draiman is complete arrogant toolbelt and probably went in to it with no prior experience. Mike has produced full albums as well as gone 50/50 (if not more) with Rubin on the last 3 Lp records.

I know neither Disturbed nor Draiman are everyone's piece of cake. But on their defense David Draiman has NOT produced any Disturbed album, the self producing credits go to Dan Donegan (guitarist).

SUPER excited for this record. Can't wait for the hype train to start-- But, technically, this IS the start of the hype train.

Can't wait. It's only a few months away, guys!

Wow! So much to take in, it's a shock getting so much information after weeks of silence. I'm excited that the album is mostly self-produced, but possibly for different reasons than the rest of you. The band always seemed to need a producer because they get in their own heads too often, chasing perfection. If all six of the guys decided that they can create an album in two years without someone to bounce ideas off of, then I'm confident that this album will truly be "Linkin Park." On a side note, I think this post confirms that the recent STPCB cancellations are in part caused by Chester being full-time committed to finishing LP6.

i don't know what to say.

Maybe we're going to listen some very experimental music, beyond a thousand suns songs (i mean, really beyond).

Maybe very short songs or very long.

I'm happy cause i feel like warner isn't pressuring LP. They've promissed a new album 18 months after LT, but it's already 18 months.

(Sorry by my fucking awesome english skills.)
