I actually like that not much has been said about the album. As has been said in the "Studio Pictures" thread, photos and short videos from studio sessions make for a good substitute. As for appeasing hardxcore fans with a taste of new music ... endless arguments about whether or not the song titles "sound like LP" or why the band aren't making more songs like "Somewhere I Belong" have turned me off lead single hype trains.
Are there any known working titles at the moment? I saw a number in the first post on this thread, but that may not have been a demo name.
To my knowledge, I don't think the band has even released any working title names yet. I have a feeling we won't be seeing any until after the album releases, most likely in a "Making Of" if the band decides to release one.
I don't believe any working titles for Living Things were released until after the album was out either (we knew "Primo" and "Tinfoil" were working titles from A Thousand Suns, but didn't know that they made the cut on Living Things until later). The pre-album "teasing" with this album and the last one have been about equal in my opinion.
Well there was that early image that was titled Water Taxi Multi. Water Taxi was listed under the category of numbers that LP typically labels their songs so it might be a working title.
LIVING THINGS has not even been out for two years, so I don't find this "maddening" at all, and the wait is surely not going to last that long.
Thing is that we were used to LP releasing albums about 3 years between them. But now that we've been told they will try to reduce that cycle to 18 months-2 years people get anxious when that time is nearing.
I still find it pretty insane that this album is almost reaching the cusp of closure and we have not a single indication on who the producer is. At this point, it might just be Mike which would be rightfully earned. But still, this might be the most concealed album process of any I've followed. Save for the Instagram pictures, we really know nothing. Nothing like when Mike would have his UStream chats or wrote some extended blog posts on his website, which has been pretty quiet as of late. Still extremely excited for new music nevertheless!
Haha! Yeah, one tweet with a link to Mike talking about everything that has gone through the past two years in the studio changes everything.
They're working with Rick Rubin again. That was mentioned way back at the end of 2012 when they first started writing new music.
I can't believe Mike actually trolled us by posting a tweet saying he was not trolling. Or maybe he just completely forgot. Lol.
"Shortly" uses means like "I'm typing up the update right now it'll be up in an hour or two." Maybe that's just me.
