I've been thinking about the possibilities of future collaborations between Linkin Park and other artists. I know there have been threads like this before but this topic focuses on whole bands that could collaborate with LP and potentially sound great. Mike had said not too long ago that he wants to see rock music innovate and progress itself further, as he felt it was growing somewhat stale compared to other hit genres of music in the industry. So with this in mind, I think that these bands could really bring what they have to offer and seamlessly combine their talents with the diverse talents of LP, potentially creating a fresh experience for rock music: 1. RED 2. Breaking Benjamin* 3. Skillet *Breaking Benjamin is a special case because as far as I know, the lead singer is the only band member and owns the rights to all of the band's material. If more members could be recruited in the near future, then this collaboration would be more feasible. What do you think about these possibilities for a future collaboration? If you have any questions about the above bands, I will do my best to answer them, as I have been exploring these bands recently but do not know their histories as well as LP's.
I see you've gone and picked the 3 most generic bands known to mankind. I think these would work better: 1. Owen Pallet (only audible this time). 2.Citizen Cope 3. Devotchka 4 (to make up for #1). 30 Seconds to Mars
I would like to see these instead, ranked in no particular order: Fleet Foxes Karnivool Eminem 30 Seconds to Mars Nine Inch Nails/Trent Reznor MGMT Arcade Fire Steve Aoki (having a full collab EDM album would be legit) Those would all be awful IMHO
lol lp don't need collaborations to freshen up rock music, they can offer an innovative, cutting edge rock experience all by themselves just you wait for lp6, it'll change rock music 4ever
Honestly the only collaboration I can think of that I think would work is if they worked with some of the people involved with Massive Attack. Definitely no one who is current and popular. It would just sound like a token pop collaboration.
Lupe Fiasco Meg Myers The xx Thirty Seconds to Mars Skylar Grey Wye Oak... I just think that a nice, young lady would fit right in. To hear Chester or Mike harmonize with a woman... That doesn't happen very often. Especially in a studio.
Mike Einzinger would be a good, if obvious choice, mainly because he's not doing a damn thing right now and can help make sure Mike's vision of cutting-edge rock music isn't just watered-down At the Drive-In riffs interspersed with electro house beats. El-P would be a long shot, but his current production style is kinda similar to what Mike did on the Raid. They could go to Ramin Djawadi for a cinematic feel; it'd sound cheesy as hell, but I can easily see LP's sound gelling with his.
The Backstreet Boys and Carly Rae Jepsen. Nuff said. You can thank me later
Confession: The Backstreet Boys are one of my biggest guilty pleasures ever. This, for me, is glorious.

Oh, El-P - hell, maybe Run The Jewels - would be a great guest to have if Shinoda ever makes another Fort Minor album. Einziger would be cool to have on an LP album, I think, as long as he's not doing just solos
