I'm thinking about making a Mob City thread, so we can discuss Frank Darabont's new venture. :awesome:

Great episode! I've always liked the character of the governor. It was cool to see what makes him tick. It seems that the general population didn't like the episode or the governor, oh well  I'm definitely looking forward to next week's second governor centered episode. It would be real cool if they could pull of a redemption for the governor. I get the feeling that his appearance on last week's episode is one where he makes amends, not seek vengeance. What really struck me was the burning of woodbury and his family portrait. Both Phillip and The Govenor are dead and gone. All he is now is his new identity, Brian.

I always thought that they should make a parody called "The Talking Bed".

Haha, I didn't notice! Nah, just a personal preference, and nothing against those who enjoy the series, I just don't dig the hammy vibe. The Arrow is much better than M:AOS

And wow, somewhat relieved and surprised at the outcome of this recent Sunday's Walking Dead episode.

I did see Arrow and yeah I thought it's a pretty good show. To be honest, AOS is obviously not the best show out there, but I just watch it for the sake of Coulson and Marvel continuity. It hasn't become a chore like Glee yet. It's just a new ABC show, and it's on its baby steps. Still, it's underwhelming coming from Joss Whedon, but the recent episodes have been quite ok for me.

    Brian is his real name.

And that's a wiki link, so, all kinds of spoiler goodness there.

    ===

I don't like his character, and I'm not fond of how the audience is being lead to be sympathetic to the guy.

I'm assuming re-encountering Martinez and his group will bring Brian in with a group of some.. unseelie-types. He's a leader, so he'll eventually take charge, but a group of that size is going to need a place to stay and there's a prison not to far away that is safe enough at to stay, but vulnerable enough to attack...

The episode hasn't aired here, but I just read recaps and watched videos. To be honest, I thought that they could've ended Governor's story there - a redeemed man with a new purpose in life. He had a new family. He has a new kid. He has a new chick to bang. And they can just drive off into the sunset, away from what used to be him.

But no, Martinez had to show up.

This show needs a laugh track. The governor character is hilariously bad.

Tempted to break this thread up into a comic discussion thread and TV show discussion thread.

But people would then discuss the tv show in the comic thread... and the people who only read the comic only would go "woah, tv spoilers... hold it!"

I really don't see the problem as long as people post SPOILER or use a tag of some sort. All I said was comic spoilers. If you haven't read the comic, it's not really a spoiler. Also the show is based on a comic so saying comic spoilers when discussing spoilers is.. well, it makes sense. I also made a thread in got feedback a while ago regarding spoilers and how to post them and think my post falls in line of what was the suggested way of how to handle them. But ultimately, it's admins choice as to what to do. I'm just saying there would be entwining posts for both threads, which could get complicated.

Brian got a boo boo

Don't even know what to think of this episode. They still haven't stopped trying to make us sympathize with him, though?

I'm not just talking about what you posted.

That's the thing though, the comic spoilers could become TV show spoilers should the TV writers decide to take inspiration from the comics.

If you don't want me to split the thread up then everyone needs to be considerate when it comes to spoilers, be they from the comic or the television show, since you never know what might be ported over.

For example, if I haven't seen the latest episode of Walking Dead it would be foolish for me to come in here expecting not to see spoilers for that latest episode. But if I had seen the latest episode and want to come and discuss it, and somebody is talking about what happens in the future in the comic, and it ends up eventually happening in the show, then it's ruined for me. It doesn't matter to people like you because you've read the books but for someone who wants to go into future episodes blind, it would suck.

I think there's definitely a way to discuss the show without discussing the book and vice-versa. But if I'm being implored to keep the discussion together then people need to avail of the spoiler tag feature: [invisible*][/invisible*] without the asterisks for those of you who don't know.

I'm all for slitting the thread. I don't read the comics and that tank comment by philsfan earlier was really spoiler heavy. Plus I'm pretty sick of all the comments by the comic fans saying that the tv show sucks and I thinks split threads would remedy that a bit.

Sorry about that. Invisitags just so others won't know. :p

Technically, it was an exaggeration and not an exaggeration at the same time. (invisitags) The prison doesn't get destroyed, though. Just...a lot of people die.

I don't read the comic at all, so I don't have any context when it comes to that.

I think the Governor makes for a much, much more interesting protagonist than Rick. Rick might be the blandest character on TV. The way the writers write the Governor can be inconsistent, but it actually makes for interesting viewing at least for me. Knowing how dark and psychotic this guy can get, but also seeing his tender side, just feels a lot more interesting than Rick struggling to lead.

Edit: Ugh. Another random/bad plot twist.
