Indeed, really set the tone, for lack of a better word!

Say he pulled a stunt like that again. Next thing you know he's trapped under a shelf, albeit safe from danger while everyone else gets torn up.

Weren't the comics supposed to be published quarterly during the All Out War storyline? :(

Just watched the new episode here. I didn't like the fact that Rick & Carol weren't urgent, nor that Tyreese was a still an angry black guy, but overall more satisfying than last episode.

I think people missed the point that Tyreese, Daryl and crew camped out for the entire night... It was implied if they didn't get the medicine by morning the next day his sister was probably going to be dead in the previous episode... so of course he's upset and kind of wanting to die by zombie, he thinks another person he loves has just likely died. They lost an entire night...

The best in 3 seasons, IMO.

While it was fantastic, it didn't top Clear from season 3. Clear is so damn good! Probably the only thing good to come out of the 2nd half of season 3.

    Great episode!

I can't say I'm excited at all for The Governor's return by the end of the episode however. The way he was presented in the last season was horrible. So far, he has not been a convincing 'menace', and the way his character was written rendered everyone else apart from the group (town folk, subordinates) cliche cardboard cutouts. I haven't found disdain in a character so much since Shinji from Neon Genesis Evangelion. I laughed out loud at how they presented his reappearance as some sort of "OMG" moment. I haven't read the comic book version of the character, but from what I know the televised counterpart pales in comparison. Fuck The Governor.

The reason why Governor wasn't presented that much is because Scott Gimple apparently got sick of him. At least that's what Robert Kirkman. He wanted a breather from Governor so he could think of how to push the character forward.

    -

Also, Scott Gimple is the showrunner this season. Seth Hoffman is the writer of the midseason finale. David S. Goyer is the director of the 15th episode. Goyer, Gimple and Hoffman wrote Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance together. Shit.

Then again, David Goyer co-wrote The Dark Knight trilogy and Man of Steel. Seth Hoffman wrote some episodes of Prison Break and House. Gimple, well has a diverse writing background. And they all helped out in Flashforward. Not sure what too feel now...

And Scott Gimple created the cartoon show Fillmore! Man, I loved that show as a kid.

Indeed a series riddled with flaws, but thank Moses it isn't anywhere close to the appalling 'MARVEL's Agents of Shield'. Blech.

The Governor would've probably come off a bit better if they spent more time making him a bastard instead of trying to make the audience sympathize with him. In the comic you're lead on for a few pages, then he captures Rick, Michonne, and Glen, cuts off Rick's right hand, and rapes and tortures Michonne. You're pretty much shown from the start that the guy is a villian and it's best likely to not fuck with him. But, this is the age of anti-heroes after all....

I don't buy TV's Phillip Blake storming the prison in a tank yelling "KILL THEM ALL!!!"

I guess I could buy him doing this though.
