First off. YES. Second, I love the faux-drop into KING PUSH. And third, this proves that Mike needs to get back on his cocky FM shit. Because apparently his flow is Super Saiyan on that shit while his Linkin Park flow is on some Tien vs Cell non-sense. Man that drop with the bass and synths in the chorus. The song keeps you waiting for that and I'm glad he didn't jack it up with random stuff, he kept to the template of the song for the chorus progression.
Am I the only person here that dreads Mike's raps? His flow is great but his bars are subpar. He sounds like the opening act.
It seems like whenever Mike is on a track with multiple rappers (at least in the post-Fort Minor era), he makes it a point to up his game. The last 3 remixes he's rapped on (Skin to Bone, I'll Be Gone, and the GBC remix of Wretches and Kings) have featured some of his best rapping of the last few years. The only "Linkin Park-only songs" from the same period that are really on par rapping-wise are Until it Breaks and I Have Not Begun.
You know I was thinking exactly the same thing. I Have Not Begun is probably my favourite rap by Mike.
Yeah, I kind of feel the same way. He has his moments, but he can be downright cringe-worthy at times. His verse on BID, for instance, sounds like something by one of those dudes who would rap on an early '90s dance track, like some C&C Music Factory shit. The remix is alright. I wish Pusha T had a longer verse.
