A mini-rant for a second: The Emmys apparently love the liberal slurpfest that is The Newsroom so much that they robbed Bryan Cranston/Kevin Spacey. Yes, Jeff Daniels does a good job. But better than those two? I really don't think so.
I just have a bad feeling the show is going to end like The X-Files (coincidentally another show that Vince Gilligan was involved with in some way), where the finale is open-ended and leaves questions somewhat unanswered. There were so many things that happened in Granite State that weren't resolved during the episode. Things that cannot possibly be explained in one episode. I'm hoping the finale is really good, but I'm afraid it'll just leave us with more questions than it did answers.
Vince Gilligan directly said that nothing will be left for interpretation, and that the ending is conclusive. I don't think it will end like that. SPOILERS There are loose ends from 'Granite State', but not huge ones. Saul Goodman went off to Nebraska with a new identity; that will probably be the last we see/hear from Saul, I think it's a good ending for him. Marie Schrader is depressed and broken; the last we saw from her was when they pulled up to her house and the house was broken into and trashed, I don't think she will play a huge role in the ending, but we may see her again. Skyler and the kids have just been trying to get by in a new home with crappy jobs, they don't want anything to do with Walt anymore. Jesse has probably the biggest loose end so far, we don't know if there will be even MORE torture, if he is killed, etc. I don't think Walt will go after and attack Gray Matter or the Schwartz', although a lot of people think that. I think it was the ''spark'' that caused Walt to snap out of his depression (he has been living in NH for months on end and was ready to give up). He is definitely coming back to kill Jack and company. They deserve to die anyways, they're complete scumbags and if anyone on this show deserves to die, it's them. I'm not sure how the ending will go. I really hope that the two flashforwards from this Season actually happen in the episode, as in they tie them in exactly how they are, but that might not happen. I'm sure there will be an ''extended'' ending or alternate ending on the DVD that comes out later this year. So essentially, I don't think the ending will be left for interpretation. I think we will know the fate of each character by the final minutes of the ending.
But Bob Odenkirk said that he read his lines for the last episode and then threw his script into the trash so as to not spoil the ending. So that obviously means he has lines in the next episode, right? Also, another loose end is the whole Todd/Lydia thing.
It's exciting, yet equally depressing knowing that next week will be the last episode of Breaking Bad ever ... ever.
I've read recaps of the episode but have not watched it yet. (I'm trying to wait until next week so I can watch them both together.) From what I've gathered from what happened though, I do think Walt cares more about his pride than avenging Hank. I don't think he's going to save Jesse either. The whole premise of the show is Mr. Chips becomes Scarface, and I doubt there will be any redemption for a soul as black as Heisenberg. He's on the move to destroy what he feels set of his whole problem, which is again, his wounded pride and to do that he has to start with Grey Matter, his first wound.

I don't think I'm going to make it even until the end of the day, as I may be proven wrong about a lot too!
This show just doesn't let up! What an amazing scene that was! And I'm so glad they finally used Dave Porter's awesome theme in the show... they couldn't have picked a better scene to play it against!
That episode was so fucking heartbreaking. I know Andrea wasn't exactly a fleshed out character, but to get taken out so coldy... damn. Walt's been driven almost solely by his bitterness, resentment, and his wounded ego for a long time. It makes his downfall well deserved, but he's taking a lot of people down with him in the process. The fact that I'm sort of rooting for him now says more about how execrable Jack and Todd's crew is than Walt being even remotely sympathetic. So excited to see how it's all going to end!
I think we shouldn't have to use spoiler tags anymore. There is only 1 episode left. If you haven't seen the final episodes yet, get off your ass and watch them. Call in sick to work one day and watch all of them, make time. It's annoying. Anyways, I read an interesting article today online about predictions for Felina, and it made total sense to me. Granite State was pretty much about Walt finding out who he truly is, as well as what he has left. Walter White came back for a brief period while he was in New Hampshire for the months. Mr. Lambert was also there, very briefly, it's his 'new identity', so it's more or less what people think of him. Heisenberg, though, came back full force after he watched Elliot and Gretchen lie and discredit him on national television. That pissed him off to no end, not to mention his son had just told him that he pretty much hated him and wanted him to die, and that they didn't want his money. Walter White truly has NOTHING left at this point, so I think the Gray Matter thing sparked up his final moments, that he should go out with a bang, instead of go out slowly. Heisenberg is returning to Albuquerque, and he is taking some bodies with him, for sure. I honestly believe that the M-60 machine gun is for Jack and the crew, and that the ricin is either for Lydia, or more interesting, Elliot and Gretchen. Elliot and Gretchen would be awesome because they pretty much doubted that Walt was ever a good chemist and that he fell behind them, but with Walt being smart enough to make the ricin, they would be dieing from a deadly chemical, made by no other than Walter White himself. That probably won't happen, but that would satisfy me. As for the other characters, no idea what all of their fates are. I just hope that the ending isn't Jesse somehow killing Walt, that would be ultra lame at this point.
I really hope Jesse pulls through. It's horrible seeing him being kicked around. Funny how quickly I went from hoping he fucks off to wanting him to hold on. Same with Walt, at this point I feel sorry for him, but it's all valid, really. I want him to pull through though, but I highly doubt that's going to happen, and in that case ... bang! I hope Todd and gang eat the shit. I'm not too fond of Lydia, so I couldn't care less what happens to her. Junior and Skyler have good reason to hate Walt, and for that, they must pay the ultimate price. Hehe. Not really. ... and I bet all of this is wrong. EDIT: this is greatest GIF I've ever seen. via reddit. http://i.minus.com/ibg2eRrqn1FPkD.gif
They never doubted that Walt was a good Chemist. Gretchen constantly calls Walt brilliant (and it is beyond clear that she still cares about him in some capacity, did you she the glare in he eyes when she spoke about him to Charlie Rose?, lol )and even does so in the interview where Grey Matter discredits him, in fact she was hurt when Walt decided to walk away from the company, and from her. Walt was about to start a family with his wife and didn't think he would have time for the company anymore, and I think I remember Gretchen mentioned that she begged him to stay on, if not fulltime then at least as a consultant. (I may have dreamed that or it is likely it was mentioned in the insider podcasts or the webisodes.) And thus he accepted when Eliot offered him a buyout. Walt is at fault for the entire thing yet he blames Grey Matter for his own mistakes and he can not accept that he is at fault for it because it would wound his pride. He feels that his entire situation is a outcome of the buyout and he was jealous of Gretchen's wealth, which lead to everything that has happened. Hank said it best, he is the smartest person you know but too stupid to realize his situation. (Fun fact, Hank says that line almost exactly ten minutes into the episode 00:10:18:00 I believe)
So this happened when Conan interviewed Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul
You're free to disagree with my opinion (such as what inspires what to do what he does) but I don't see how you can deny the factual information. Ahwell, doesn't matter really. We all have our own interpretations.
For some reason I think this would be the best song for the final minutes of Breaking Bad next Sunday. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=068-k95B9lI
