To be honest, I don't think I've ever seen anyone on this forum say Mark Wakefield is a better vocalist than Chester, I've seen some say they prefer his versions of some demo songs, but I've never seen anyone say he's better.
I wouldn't say the band's willingness to experiment and evolve is the direct result of Mark Wakefield not being part of the lineup. Perhaps, if there hadn't been a change of vocalists, Shinoda and co.'s drive to evolve as songwriters and musicians would have still kicked in but with results completely different from what Linkin Park have done.
fuck, this thread scares me. How can everyone be such assholes to the band they follow so closely. I really wish I didn't go here.
Not directed towards me, but just because I love a band doesn't mean I can't have major problems with them.
Valentines Day, Hands Held High, In Between, and In Pieces should have been demo tracks and not on MTM (or bonus tracks) By Myself/Crawling is the worst song on Hybrid Theory Lies Greed Misery is the worst on Living Things The 2nd half of Blackout is much better than the first one (right before the guitars) I like Meteora better than HT Castle of Glass sounds like a demo track Fort Minor > Dead By Sunrise MTM has about as many fillers as ATS Mike is the only person in LP that I like now
People aren't assholes for having some negative opinions about certain aspects of a band. People are free to think whatever they want about LP or any other band as long as they're respectful of other views.
Yeah the MV really dissapointed me and I was thinking 'Yes, all my friends are going to like an LP song again!' and yeah, I didn't hear of it in my own country on anything that wasn't the internet. HUGE Fail.
Brad Delson hasn't done a single good thing since Minutes To Midnight Rob needs to have more freedom on the kit instead of playing, essentially, drum loops on a Roland
In terms of guitar-playing? Sure, I can agree with that. But he's more than just a guitarist when Linkin Park are making studio albums.
-Minutes to Midnight is their best album -LT is their worst album -Letting Mike do the songs on his own leads to bad songs -In interviews, Mike seems to be arrogant -They should bring back the guitars -The mixing of ATS and LT is awful -Reanimation is awful -They never made a song as good as TLTGYA
Myke Shitzoda turned into Hitler after Minutes To Midnight. Joe Hands can't scratch like he used to cause he got fat. Steve Oakman should replace Joe Hands because he is better looking. Myke Shitzoda's rapping sucks and ruined Burn It Down. LP only still exist because Fort Minor failed. Phoenix thought LP was lame but came back to the group after they made their first million. Linkin Park will continue making pop-rock until their record deal runs out. To those who believe this, it's not true, but the mastering is fucking awful and rapes all the great work LP and Manny did, Brian Gardner needs to quit the industry before he ruins more music I like.
-Hybrid Theory is my least favorite album -Hybrid Theory and Meteora are overrated. If Linkin Park ever made another "Old LP" album, then they would truly become sellouts. -Linkin Park needs to stop listening to the fans that want a HT sound. They tried mixing New and Old, which didn't work out. The best songs on Living Things were with a newer sound (Roads Untraveled, Powerless, Castle of Glass, etc.) Yes, I'm basically saying to the old lp fans to move the fuck on.
