Zach: I think you need to cut the show a bit of slack. After all you have to keep in mind that it's a TV show... it will take liberties with certain things. Expecting everything to be 100% realistic would be stupid and will keep you from enjoying the show fully. If you see Gus' death scene from a cinematic standpoint... it's a cool fucking shot and I think that's all there is to it. Just a cool shot. Criticizing it for not being realistic is kind of stupid.
I actually loved Season 7 of Dexter and I'm currently watching Season 8 episodes right now, and I like them as well. The only season of Dexter that I didn't absolutely love were Season 5 and maybe Season 3. Dexter was always a darker show than Breaking Bad was, though, so I can't really compare them. All I'm saying is that I hope these next 6 episodes are great and I hope they live up to my expectations. I just find it crazy that none of the main characters have died yet (meaning Walt, Skyler, Walt Jr, Holly, Hank, Marie, Jesse, Saul) and there is only 6 episodes left. I just hope that the show isn't just proving a message that crime doesn't pay, and everyone gets away happy except Walt. That would be mega cheesy.
Why would any of them HAVE to die? Like was shown last episode, people know the crazy stuff Heisenberg can do and it scares them. Huell and the other dude thought about sneaking some money for themselves but remembered that he killed 10 inmates within 2 minutes in different prisons. He blew up a drug kingpin in a nursing home. A kingpin that also was revered for being intelligent, ruthless and basically untouchable. And Heisenberg sits alone at top. Anybody who tries to do anything to him or people within his circle are either very crazy or don't care about dying themselves. Heisenberg is pretty much a mythical being that nobody really knows, but they know what he has done and is capable of. I'm sure there's a lot of hype around him in the crime world. Probably even legends. From what the flash forwards look like, someone does fuck with him and now we get to see a full embodiment of Heisenberg. Here's to hoping we catch up to the flash forwards very soon.
And what is a mythical being? Something simple over-blown into God-like proportions. Heisenberg is incredibly vulnerable, and it'll be great to see when he gets cracked. Just sayin.'.
I actually just realized what I think my issue with Season 5 has been so far. I don't like Lydia or Todd. I don't like their character, and I more so don't like the actress and actor portraying them. I think the guy who plays Todd is a horrible actor, and I can't stand Lydia in general. I guess it kind of irritated me when I realized last episode that they will be playing a much bigger role in the final episodes than I initially thought. I kind of wanted these last 8 episodes to be Walt VS Hank and Walt going on the run, a huge manhunt, something big happening to Skyler and the kids, etc. This all could still happen but I honestly think that Walt will have to ''take down'' Todd, Lydia and their little gang. In reality, Walt easily could get rid of Lydia, Todd and the Neo-Nazi gang if he wanted to, but I have a feeling it will be drawn out and possibly the final episode. Maybe they come after Walt, Hank and the families. Meh. BB will lose major brownie points with me if this happens. BB used to be my favorite show, now I'm gravitating towards Dexter... Come on BB, win me back. Lol.
Dexter has been horse shit ever since the end of Season 4, which was nearly perfect TV until that point. Breaking Bad has had a steady increase in quality the entire run, so why are you questioning the quality of the final 6 episodes?
All Walt can do is gloat and take credit for being involved in the major events that Heisenberg is know for. When Walt is left on his own with no one to depend on, manipulate, or save him, that will be the conclusion to his downfall. His ego may have fueled some of events, but he himself never made anything happen. Well, besides letting Jane die and giving Mike a one-way ticket to Belize behind his back.
He did blow up Gus. And exploded Tuco's office. And ran over and executed those two gang members that were about to kill Jesse. He's actually done quite a bit on his own, but he's also been very lucky and passive in other instances. Though when he lets Heisenberg take over he pwns everything and everyone.
Hector blew up Gus. He did bait him, but he needed help. Walt tried to blow up Gus on his own and failed. Well, okay. I wouldn't put that in the mythos of Heisenberg. Did Walt actually participate in the organization of the prison killings, or did he just demand that they be done?
^ That is really splitting hairs. He orchestrated the bombing and the prison killings. Questioning whether he participated enough is silly.
That's your opinion about Dexter. Breaking Bad is a great show, but at times it can be boring as well. It's not like every single episode is amazing. All I'm saying is I hope the ending doesn't suck.
It's a callback to Season 2 where Walt wanted Jesse to take credit for the ATM head-smash to further their reputation. And flashforward to the beginning of 5B with "HEISENBERG" tagged inside of the old White house. It's sarcastically mocking him. Invisitheory time... Eventually Walt's actions are going to come back and haunt him, and he will be left alone. And he will fail. And it will end. And it will be good.
HOLY FUCK BREAKING BAD. I guess I was wrong!! SPOILERS: At first, I thought this episode would be boring like the last episode. I was 100& wrong. Walt's confession video is simply one of the best scenes of all of Breaking Bad for sure. Hank is so fucked now. The ending was INSANE. Jesse running in Saul's office and locking out Huel, while be beats the shit out of Saul, and then threatening Saul and Huel and Franchesca (sp?) with the gun. It's insane how he learned about Brock in this way, I never would have imagined it. Then he steals Saul's car, kicks down Walt's door to his house and drenches the place in gasoline?!? So THIS is how Walt's house becomes in the state that it's in. I wonder what will happen in the next episode. I now know that the audio for the previews is never intact with the scene, and not even the same context most of the time. I know the White's house will be burned down by the next episode, and I wonder what is going to happen.
^^^ You don't know Walt's house will be burned down. As a matter of fact, you know the opposite. In the flash forwards, it's still there. And while it looks fucked up, I don't think there was any real fire damage.
There can be a fire, it doesn't mean the whole house gets burned down. I've seen it plenty of times. I don't think they will be living in the house after tonight's episode. Also, there was that interview from the other day with one of the writers for the episode Rabid Dog that got taken down, you can find it on some sites still. The writer gave a description of the episode in detail, and there is a quote from Jesse that says ''Next time I'll do more than just burn down your house''.
Burning a house "down" means its gone. And the quote was this: Empire: Can you describe what was being filmed today? Sam Catlin: Today is a showdown, or potential showdown between Walt and Jesse. Walt has called a once-and-for-all meeting in the most public, safest square in Albuquerque, which is surrounded by federal buildings and the police department, to clear the air between the two of them, and Hank thinks it's finally an opportunity to get Walt to self-incriminate himself, but Jesse believes - he's not sure how - that Walt is somehow luring him out to kill him. And we don't know, as the audience, which is true. 'So the meeting is going to happen but Jesse gets nervous and he panics, but then he has another idea, a better way to get Walt, so he breaks off the meeting, and behind his back, he calls him from a payphone and says, This is just to say goodbye, and I'm going to nail you. I'm going to do something worse than burn your house down.' Which is what he was going to do at the end of the last episode. So for whatever reason, it's not going to happen.
Called it. You don't recreate a famous shot that depicts a major event in the series for the lulz. Jesse has finally snapped. This has been my favorite of the final 8, but I'm a big Jesse fan, so that's a little bias. Invisitheory: And now that Jesse is out for Walt it'll be time for him to, at the least, team up with Hank in spirit.
This was definitely my favorite out of the 3 episodes so far. Just an excellent episode all around... I can't wait for next weeks. Each week, I'm liking Walt less and less.
