The instrumental sounds fucking sick but I don't care for the vocals on the preview. I loved Mike's energetic rapping and Chester's clean vocals from the live version.

The combination of sound sounds good
but nothing we didint listen before (so far 40 sec arent enough)
    The soul is chester voice
Mike raps is just too "soft"
This is the same as QWERTY the live version is a lot better than the studio version
probably will be an ok song for those whom live thier lives at facebook
I wait to the final product
    expectation level 4/10

Yeah, but, then, on the bright side, this track won't be on the sixth Linkin Park album.

Wasn't it you who said that this genre of music typically have very simplistic lyrics? It could be nothing more than that reason the lyrics are the way they are.

I don't think any musician sits down, hears a certain style beat, and thinks to themselves "the lyrics to this need to be nothing special." I understood the point Derek made before, but Mike Shinoda is a song (lyric) writer. I don't think it really applies.

Love what I'm hearing, I'm so glad the guys will make a song sound however the hell they want, it means I can enjoy every genre through them. I doubt I'd like EDM outside of this.

EDIT: I also hope this really silences people saying "No! This is Steve Aoki feat. Chester and Mike!". This is even, right down the middle with Linkin Park.

The house and dubstep sounds are definitely from Aoki, but I think Rob's making the beats (his drum beats are usually that sound) and I could hear Brad's guitar in the oooooohhh chorus.

Man, my hard-rock-LP fans are gonna be pissed once they hear this. :shinado:

Well, I'd be surprised if anyone from LP other than Chester and Shinoda were involved in the song.

I think when it comes to something with the name "Linkin Park" on it, all the members are involved someway, even if its not creating music directly. I can't see them (Mike & Chester) just going off with Aoki with an okay from the band and just doing whatever. Clearly from some of the video we saw the other members have input on how this song sounds too.

I can assure you that Rob is not the one making the beats.

I wonder what Mike thought when he wrote this line... "This is perfect the way it is, it's the best I can." or "Whatever, I don't care. People will listen whatever we release, so it doesn't matter."

That was before I heard this track more clearly (or at least part of it) and realized that even Somewhere I Belong had better lyrics than this.

Yes. It'll also contain the Coldplay collaborations that happened earlier this year.

"Erection Vol. II: A Rush Of Blood To The Head".

The rap verses in Somewhere I Belong weren't as awkwardly written and it can be argued Mike's subdued performance fit the music. I can't say the same for this song.
