Hank will be a lot more involved I'm willing to bet, in upcoming episodes. I would like to see it from Walt's perspective, after all, the whole series has basically been from Walt's perspective. Hank needs to build up a solid case, as well as comes to terms that his surgery and everything was all paid with Walt's drug money, which will be another big ordeal.
I mean the whole series from Hank's perspective. We have 2 opposing sides and both would make great stories.
He's been on the case for over a year, and obsessed over it, so he's more than familiar on the details. Over the course of a montage and a passage of a few days it's more than plausible for Hank to connect the dots to Heisenberg, seeing as he's reached conclusions before in the series with nothing more than a good hunch and bits of evidence.
Hank, in the heat of the moment, told Walt that he was the one who drove into traffic to prevent him from going to the laundry. Obviously Hank knows, because he was there. He then accuses Walt of killing all of Mike's men to keep them from talking, and he lastly accuses Walt of blowing up a nursing home. He doesn't know for fact yet that ''Heisenberg'' did those things, but it's a very obvious assumption that he did. Walt loosely confessed that he was Heisenberg, but he did flat out say that he didn't do those things. He confessed by saying ''If you don't know who I am, then I would tread lightly''. Hank isn't stupid, he has been obsessing over Heisenberg's case for years. Personally, I wouldn't want them to waste an entire episode of Hank just piecing together stuff that he basically already knows, and the viewers definitely know.
Yeah, lots of Gus parallels in this episode. His sort of sixth sense out by his car was very Gus-like, and the way he talked to Lydia when she visited the car wash was like Gus at Pollos.
Walt was driving a Cadillac in the beginning scene of the episode. Saul drives a Cadillac. I don't think Saul will die, just saying. It's interesting stuff. In ''Live Free Or Die'', it is shown that Walt was driving a Volvo (which Gus drove) with a New Hampshire plate, but switched to the Cadillac which contained the M-80 in the trunk. A lot of people say that Vince said Saul will never die, but now people are saying that a spin-off show with Saul could take place before Breaking Bad, or during the timeframe of Breaking Bad, from Saul's perspective.
In response to what I wrote in an invisible tag in this post, there seems to possibly have been another hint in tonight's episode. http://i.imgur.com/0Tm8uxL.jpg Not saying, just saying.
Totally missed the Gus parallels. Fuck, this show is amazing. I'm going to watch it again in a couple hours, but the only thing I didn't like/get was another emergence of Depressed Jesse. It's been at least 2 months (?) since he's been 'out', and he just starts getting depressed about Mike and Spider Kid now? Did finally receiving the money trigger the depression? Either way it seems lame. Getting paid after he killed Gale didn't have this effect so it seems really weird.
Jesse has always has a big soft spot for kids. Remember Splooge from Season 2, he had connection with his son. He then had one with Tomas, he was mad that they were using him to kill people, and he got very depressed when Tomas was killed. Actually, he probably would have died since he went up to them with a gun and they both had two guns, but Walt saved him. Then there was Brock, who Jesse got attached to. Brock was then poisoned and that took a big toll on him. Then Todd shot Drew Sharpe and killed him, I think that was the final straw for Jesse. It's basically just showcasing that. He was depressed after killing Gale, but the show moved on from it sort of quickly kicking off Season 4. I think the point of showing depressed Jesse is to exemplify the fact that Walt has really become a monster, and they are trying to show that Jesse was manipulated and lied to by Walt. They're trying to show how each main character was manipulated by Walt, actually.
Did anyone else pay particular attention to what Walt says to Jesse? "I need you to believe me." He repeated it at least twice. It's like he's not even trying to hide his manipulation of Jesse anymore, he just needs him to believe whatever he's told. And Jesse isn't having it anymore, he's just saying what he knows Walt wants to hear.
ATTENTION! CAN WE PLEASE KEEP THIS THREAD EXCLUSIVELY FOR EPISODE DISCUSSION... I FEEL LIKE I CAME ACROSS A FEW FAN THEORIES/POTENTIAL FUTURE EPISODE SPOILERS (LEAKED SCRIPT OR W/E) IN THIS THREAD. IF YOU STILL WANT TO DISCUSS THOSE SPOILERS THEN PLEASE PUT EM IN SPOILER TAGS With that said... WHAT AN EPISODE! Loved it. I didn't expect them to show the Walt/Hank confrontation this early. But I guess it's good they jumped straight to it without dragging it out for too long. Now the cat and mouse chase can begin. And OMG @ Walt lying through his teeth to Jesse about Mike... that gave me chills!
At the end of the episode, did anyone else notice how Hank was standing in light and Walt was standing in the shadows? Good Light vs Dark imagery there. Here's a picture. http://i.imgur.com/N9bLAVh.png I also saw this theory about how Walt acquires traits from people he's killed or has died because of him. http://i.imgur.com/BHg4vzA.jpg and to take it further, him shaping his bacon into is age is what Skylar did so maybe he kills her and picks up that trait too.
I guess I won't post theories any more because I refuse to post a theory in a spoiler tag. It's not a spoiler, it's an idea based on what's already been seen and there's no reason to censor it. And I guess this thread is useless if you can't discuss an episode that just aired and even has been discussed in this very thready already. I mean, what's the point if not to guess and theorize what might happen next? Just to say "OH, that was good!" and lose yourself in a massive circle jerk? No thank you. I'll post spoilers in spoiler tags, not theories. I can understand someone not wanting to be spoiled but someone not halt any discussion of what MIGHT be ahead is just something I can not fathom.
