Jack Reacher: 8/10 Surprisingly a good plotline and excellent acting from Tom Cruise. I found it a constantly intriguing film though the ending and the antagonist was a bit of a let down.

Cloud Atlas: How do I even rate this film? 6.5-9/10???

This movie could be considered the most excellently crafted movie (because of the book of course) or be just a mess. The plot is so intensely difficult to follow upon first watch that I was really just watching the separate plot lines "almost" like separate movies. The names get thrown around so fast that it's hard to really comprehend and combine the stories. But upon reading a quick summary post-film, I found that I loved the movie 10000x more! Anyhow, still enjoyed watching it. Great picture and effects. Loved seeing the separate characters that actors portrayed. Be prepared to be in a mind-minefield for 3+ hours while watching this film.

I thought the same thing about Cloud Atlas. I can't remember if I wrote my thoughts down here. Felt like it could be between like a 6 or a 10, I just couldn't decide.

Blue Jasmine - Woody Allen sure knows how to make a movie.

Jeff, Who Lives at Home (2012) - A review on Rotten Tomatoes said: At 84 minutes it feels remarkably like an extended episode of a good sitcom. And that's true. I wish this sitcom really existed. Very pretty film. Also I love the way it's filmed – the zooming makes it feel more casual and real. 8/10

I watched G.I. Joe Retaliation last night for some reason. 5/10. Cool action and decent for a while. Then good action and completely ridiculous the rest of the way. So laughable.

I thought it was a lot better than people said it was and much better than the first.

"The Place Beyond The Pines" - Great movie. Good story, great acting. Yeah. I'm not much for words. 4/5

"Cloud Atlas" - Really interesting movie. I loved the story: incredibly complex parts yet it all ties together wonderfully. 5/5

Rosemary's Baby (1968) - 4.5/5 - Found it creepier than The Exorcist. Great film.

G.I. Joe 2 was waaaay better than the first, but sadly for me that doesn't say much. There's potential, though, like that amazing Snake Eyes and Jinx mountainside scene.

Despicable Me (2010) - I still can't take the smile off my face. Endlessly charming, hilarious and of very big proportions.

"Hey, that one looks like me!" –"No, what are you talking about? These are kittens. Any relation to persons living or dead is completely coincidental."

Oh and I love Gru's accent. Great job, Steve Carell. This is one of the best animated films I've ever seen. 9/10

    The Wolverine - 3.5 out of 5

    > Origins, but I was quite upset with some of the character rewrites, particularly Yukio being a mutant and Harada being neither Shingen's son or the Silver Samurai. However, I digged the Mariko/Logan romance, and Tao Okamoto is gorgeous. Definitely followed more along the lines of personal journeys like my new favorite comic book movies, and it was refreshing to see Logan get his ass beat justifiably for once - how the hell does it hurt to fall or get kicked when your body is made of the toughest metal in the fictional world?

    Hannibal
    9/10
My favourite out of the Hannibal films. My favourite part would probably have to be when Hannibal feeds the guy his own brain.

"Cashback" - brilliant movie. It may not have been the most professional or big budget movie around but it told a deep story as the main character tried to understand what beauty was and his understanding of the world. As corny as that sounds, it was pretty good. 3.5/5

    Saw
    4/10
Overrated. Maybe I would have enjoyed it better if I didn't have such high expectations, but the reviews online made it sound really good, it's my mother's favourite movie series, and everyone at school had been going on about it. It's ridiculous, and kinda boring. I really disliked the characters. Dr. Gordon's family was just so... "perfect daughter, nice wife, good job" bleh. I really didn't care about them. I tried to, but... I don't get scared or worry about characters dying if I really don't like them. I don't understand why so many people go on about this film. I think I find films scarier if, you know, it could actually happen. I guess that's also why I dislike ghost or exorcism films.
The whole idea of torturing victims with such games is just total overkill. Who would actually go to such an effort? I know a lot of horror movies aren't realistic, but c'mon! It was also pretty cheesy. I didn't like the acting, either. I felt like I was watching a parody. Not to the extent of films like The Evil Dead, but still.
The effects were pretty good, I guess.
I'm gonna watch the second one, hopefully it's better.

^ Why would you have high expectations about a film that revitalized the torture porn genre?

Jeff, who lives at home: 6/10 very average, not really an Ed Helms fan.
