Has anybody been watching this show on Netflix? I flew through the first season in about a week, and literally just finished watching the season finale. Hooooly shit. Also, am I the only male on this planet watching this show? Surely I can't be from the amount of nudity in a show about a women's prison. =P Yet all I see on Facebook is women raving about it. I know it's a dramedy, but c'mon guys, give it a shot! So, if you have seen it, what did you think? Any favourite moments, quotes, characters? Thoughts about what's going to happen in Season 2?
I saw about the first fourth of the first episode. It wasn't jumping out at me, but I haven't given up on it. What makes it so good in your opinion? Does it get emotional or is it really funny? Both?
Both. Once you get to know the characters better, and their back stories, you become a lot more engaged.
I've seen good stuff about it, but now that I've read "nudity" and "women's prison", I'll make sure to start it tonight.
I made a remark about it being "Mean Girls and OZ smashed together" and my friend got mad at me. Then I watched it, and it's literally Mean Girls and OZ put together. I then found out that the show having a transsexual on it is a major part of it's appeal, for some reason.
So I finished the show, and i really think that anyone with a Netflix account should watch the show! And if you don't have a Netflix account... get one.
I would disagree with that. Her/his character is not prominent whatsoever, aside from one episode where they tell her/his backstory.
Oh I know he/she's not a major part of the show itself, just it's appeal anyway. From what I've seen, people are infuriated that the shows main pov is a white woman and not the transsexual in question.
I'm getting curious about this. But I don't have a Netflix account, nor the bandwidth to watch decent quality shows anyway .. I had read about the book being promoted and stuff but I didn't pay much attention to it.
