The one thing about Chuu-2-2 is, it'll be refreshing to see an anime about a couple already in a relationship and not have to drag out the courting for an entire season. But on the other hand, I don't see how it can top the first season. Conflicted.
They'll break up in the middle due to issues that's for sure. There might possibly be another love interest as well.
I've started watching it, it looks pretty damn good so far. Though I pushed it aside for about a week to watch a couple other animes, My Little Monster and Ore no Kanojo to Osananajimi ga Shuraba Sugiru (Oreshura for short). They were both good, I'd recommend them. Now to commence with Attack on Titan...
Possibly, that could be it. It looks good, though. I REALLY need to delve more into these kind of classic anime films (I've yet to watch "Grave of the Fireflies").
Some of the best Ghibli movies are not by Miyazaki Only Yesterday Pom Poko The Secret World of Arrettty My Neighbors the Yamadas' From Up on Poppy HIll Grave of the Fireflies and Whispers of the Heart (I have a bit of a gripe about the ending, but other than that it's a very great movie) These movies are much more mature than a lot of other Ghibli films and seem more aimed towards adult audiences. And Will, you need to watch Grave of the Fireflies. It's a tearfest though.
I have a feeling I know what specifically that gripe is about, and I actually thought that one particular choice seemed to fit with the characters a lot more than the sudden embrace right after.
I assume what seemed phony to you was Seiji asking Shizuku to marry him? I don't know why, but that to me seemed much more believable and consistent within the conceit of the film than him just suddenly hugging her and saying he loved her.
