http://www.noisecreep.com/2012/04/25/palms-members-of-deftones-isis-form-new-band/ This match sounds so perfect, I can't believe I never thought of it before. Stoked.
Yeah, Chino's track record with side projects is pretty impressive. Plus the album is already done, so it won't be one of those side projects you hear about that takes years to put out any music. @Manu: Ninja'd.
Hopefully it's heavier than the last couple Isis record. Sounds like this could be pretty good, or really boring.

I was actually wondering a couple of days ago how this project was coming along, good to see they're gonna release new music soon! I wasn't really acquainted with Chino until the first Crosses EP. That project lead me to Deftones (Koi No Yakan), which in return lead me to this. More and more I'm becoming a fan of Chino's work. Can't wait for this album to drop, definately excited!
Well, "Koi No Yokan" isn't much different from most of their previous albums (2000's "White Pony" and onward - but you could maybe even include 1998's "Around The Fur") so you're bound to like a lot of that if you like the latest album. My personal favourite Deftones album is "Diamond Eyes" which they released in 2010.
I'll be honest and say Palms hasn't left me impressed so far. That's weird because I usually love Chino's work (let it be with Deftones, Team Sleep, Or Crosses) but this sounds a bit boring and monotomous to me. I don't know. It's not that different from what Chino usually does, but the problem is there...I feel like the 2 tracks released so far could have been Team Sleep or Deftones b-sides. Maybe it's just me. But I'm not really complaining anyway, it's still cool to get more Chino's work and I'm sure I will enjoy some songs on the record
