"The album has been reported as leaked by 1 Level 1 user(s) and 0 Level 2 user(s)." via Has It Leaked? This fucker had better not be lying.
That "fucker" was me btw If Tony hates choirs, he must really hate this video! Jared practically teaches them the song!
No need to ask, it's just common sense. Anywho, I'm waiting for the to come.. So I can see if this band is worth listening to.
At this point, being today the release date, I'd hardly call it a leak (I did on my last post, but didn't know release was today lol), all albums after release generally make it online. That was some good work to hold it until the last minute, I think. Or we can go back to the earlier point where Echelons are snobby little brats so the early grabbers didn't share the music with anybody else because they "had to be the first, period".
Seeing how close the date is to when I get my CD, I'm just going to wait for the physical CD. Make it a little bit more special than just a download.
Listening to it right now... Might rate the tracks on a later edit. Scores will eventually be modified with further listens: 01. Birth = Great opener, but not meant to stand as a song on its own. 7/10 02. Conquistador = Hands down my favorite track from the 1st listen. 10/10 03. Up in the Air = Can't remember much of it now. Need to relisten. 4/10 04. City of Angels = Nice ballad, but sounds to me like an American Idol type of song. 6/10 05. The Race = Catchy chorus, the "I'm not running" bit sticks to my head. 7.5/10 06. End of all Days = Slow ballad, his growls not too elegant for me but there's a lot of feeling in it. 6/10 07. Pyres of Varanasi = No idea what the title means, Instrumental. Sounds like something that could be on an Assassin's Creed OST. 8/10 08. Bright Lights = Intro reminds me of Keane, despite no prominent piano. OK track. 6/10 09. Do or Die = Electronic oriented, average soft rock song, ideal for open festivals for crowd to sing. 5.5/10 10. Convergence = Leak scammed me with a fake track here. 11. Northern Lights = I like something about this but can't put a finger on it. 7.5/10 12. Depuis Le Debut = Not my favorite, didn't care for the 1st part, instrumental was better, the ending was creepy. 5/10 So, this album has a lot of strings, some on the right places (not sure if I love ALL of them), interesting percussion on some songs, good layering, not many GUITARZ lol, and crowd vocals. While it's the first time I've ever listened to an album of theirs, it's something I can listen to. Some songs were like OK so far but didn't find anything to "hate". For some reason I really struggle to open my ears to many bands and musicians in general out there, so I decided to give this guys a shot. I'll give Daft Punk's new album a listen too.
I'll give the album a listen some time the weekend, I guess No matter how it is, I'll always love 30STM's self-titled album and some of "A Beautiful Lie" as well.
