Conquistador was randomly uploaded! Fucking sick, sounds awesome.
This is fucking fantastic. Definitely an unexpected sound for sure, much different from UP IN THE AIR, which has me even MORE curious for what MARS has in store.
The only issue I had with "Up In The Air" was that it features Summit crowd vocals. They don't seem to have been used on this other track, and, although I'm not really a 30STM fan, I am glad for that.
Just listened to Birth, Conquistador and Up in the Air respectively. This album has got one hell of a beginning.
I honestly love "Conquisador" purely because of it's nostalgic factor. Sounds a lot like early 2000s rock! "Conquisador" does have summit vocals. "We will, We will, We will rise again"
Yes, but it sounds like it was sung by the band members rather than the Echelon (well, if you consider the TIW/UITA crowd vocals were sung by the Echelon).
I am kind of with you (though I am thoroughly a 30STM fan). Every band has tools in its toolkit and I feel gang vocals are becoming an overused tool by 30STM. It's like "We need this to feel huge and epic... GANG VOCALS." Sometimes it works, other times its not needed.
Conquistador has just been the 1st song I've ever listened from 30STM (literally just now). Not bad eh.
I feel like I should write a fic about Love, Lust, Faith and Dreams when it comes out, because it feels so much like how a concept album would flow, well, "Birth", "Conquistador" and "Up in the Air" do anyway!
Becoming overused? I remembering listening to "This Is War" for the first time and feeling that there was definitely too much crowd singing after hearing three consecutive tracks that featured it prominently. Little did I realise then that that was just the beginning
Do we really have to be that specific? It's a thread for crying out loud. My Daft Punk thread doesn't even have the album title in. I should go edit that actually.
