On Saturday March 2nd, Linkin Park will play the 4th of 5 Soundwave Festival dates in Adelaide, Australia at Bonython Park. Once again, Linkin Park will perform on Stage 1B and their set is expected to run from 6:30 PM to 7:45 PM. Last night the band performed at the Soundwave Festival in Melbourne, Australia. They played the usual shortened festival set B that has been played at the previous Soundwave shows with the addition of adding Papercut after A Place for My Head. The band also recently headlined two Sidewave shows in Sydney and Melbourne where a slightly different setlist from the Soundwave setlist was played. You can view more information about Linkin Park's tour dates and setlists on the LPA Tour Map. Additionally, you can add videos and pictures to our tour page from any show you've attended. Check out this video of the band performing "A Place For My Head" at last night's Soundwave show in Melbourne, uploaded by janelocke. Do you think Linkin Park will mix things up for this show or will we see the same setlist as the previous Soundwave shows? Who's heading to Adelaide for the show? Let us know in our Forums. Heh, seems the Adelaide crowd were more interested in Metallica than LP: "Tonight's Adelaide crowd was chanting for Metallica even before Linkin Park walked of the stage" http://www.metallica.com/metontour/20130302-tourjournal2.asp
That's also coming from Metallica's website. They will pander to their audience who, for whatever reason, gets off on putting down bands who aren't "metal."
I was there yesterday and I couldn't hear many, if any, of the crowd chanting "Metallica". Late in the set there was Metallica's crowd gathering in front of stage 1A, while LP were playing on 1B. Mike said something along the lines of, " I know you guys want Metallica, but we've got one more for you". There may have been a few metal heads chanting something... On their performance, they absolutely smashed it. They were standout performers. They had the crowd going off their tits. They have really grown in terms of working a crowd. Couldn't have asked for a better set, if only they were allowed to go longer. On other acts, Blink were the biggest waste of space at the festival. I have lost respect for those guys. I won't be paying for a performance from them, ever. Their gay jokes were not funny in the least either... We watched Danko Jones earlier on a smaller stage, and they absolutely rocked. Their frontman knows how to get a crowd going. Won me over. I wasn't even planning to see them at all, but heard them while in the beer line up haha. Left an hour later, pleasantly surprised. Metallica were good. I mean, they were perfect in terms of everything. Very tight, as you'd expect. I don't go for them muchthough...
